This weekend, the USYS National League Regional Showcase Virginia 2023 will be at River City Sportsplex in Midlothian, VA. Managed by EDP Soccer, in collaboration with CCL and VYSA, the event is one of the five National League Regional Showcases during the season, and the first of three in the East Region this Spring. The event will have teams in the 15U-19U Boys and Girls age groups, and will see teams competing from eight of the 13 National League Conferences. The South Atlantic, Mid Atlantic, North Atlantic, New England, Great Lakes, Midwest, Frontier and Sunshine Conference will all be represented throughout the event.
The 140+ teams from 16 State Associations will see the event feature diverse cross-conference match-ups from differing parts of the country, testing each player to adapt to various styles of play and new challenges that arise when facing uncommon opponents. The weekend will be a tremendous recruiting opportunity for the players, with colleges from NCAA Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 registered to attend.

A look at a few of the event’s age groups:
The 16U Boys Platinum bracket is headlined by USYS Eastern Regional Champion AC Connecticut B07 EDP National (CT), who will take on North Carolina State Cup Champion Piedmont Triad FC Premier 07 (NC), who recently won the Fall Premier I Division of the Piedmont Conference. They are joined by one of Florida’s top teams in West Pines United FC 2007 Elite (FL), as well as Cedar Stars Academy Hudson Valley Boys 2007 Green (NY-E), Wake FC 07 (NC), and Virginia Beach City FC 2007 Boys Academy I (VA).
The 17U Girls Diamond bracket hosts the reigning Maryland State Cup Champion and Finalist with FCGB Center of Excellence 06 (Champion), and Maryland Rush SOMD Rush 06G (Finalist). They are joined by Liverpool FC-IA Michigan North Oakland 06G Academy (MI), MI Stars 06G Elite (MI), FC Frederick (MD) and Virginia Rush (VA).
The 15U Boys Platinum bracket will see teams from six different USYS State Associations competing, with some of the nation’s top clubs in action. The group includes Lou Fusz (MO), SYC (VA), PSA Monmouth (NJ), Barcelona SC (TX-S), AC Connecticut (CT), and St. Mary’s (MD).
The 15U Girls Diamond bracket has two of North Carolina’s top clubs traveling north, with Wake FC GA joining from the Girls Academy League, and NCFC Gold North from the USYS National League’s Piedmont Conference. They are joined by 1776 United and Keystone FC out of Eastern Pennsylvania, Michigan Stars out of Michigan, and SYC, who will be representing the home state of Virginia.

The remaining National League Regional Showcases this Spring will be USYS National League Regional Showcase New Jersey in April and USYS National League Regional Showcase New England in May.
