Summer Classic 2026 Weekend Highlights: An Unforgettable Event

Close to 300 teams kicked off their summer season this weekend at the EDP Summer Classic, one of the most popular events in the region, which took place at Tuckahoe Turf Farms and the WSFS Bank Sportsplex. Over 90 clubs were in attendance, traveling from eight different states, including NJ, NY, PA, CT, MD, MA, RI and IL.  

Over the two days, more than 540 games were scheduled, with 44 champions being crowned. Clubs winning multiple championships were TSF Academy, SJEB FC, PDA, Philadelphia Union PPP, PDA, NJ Surf South Marlton, Ironbound, and Cohansey SC.

U10 Boys Red

NJ Surf South Shore 2016B advanced to the final out of Bracket B, rebounding from a 3-2 opening loss to AB7 2016 Blue. In their next match, the defeated Voorhees SA Vengeance 2016 3-2. A win over Philadelphia Union PPP 2016 White on Sunday morning combined with a Voorhees vs. AB7 3-3 draw put NJ Surf into the final. In Bracket A, Valencia SA 2016 Black were dominant throughout the group phase, winning each match in controlling fashion. In the final, it was no different, with Valencia SA showing why they are a top team in the age group and finished as champions. 

U11 Girls White

PDA Pre-ECNL 1 G2014/15 White opened the weekend with a 3-3 draw against Philadelphia Union PPP Girls 2015 Gold and followed that up with a strong 7-1 win over Match Fit Surf Pre-ECNL Blue G15. On Sunday, they entered on four points needing a win over NJ Surf South Shore 2015G who was on six points, and PDA did just that in dominating fashion to reach the final. SJEB FC 15G Pre GA had two big wins Saturday, keeping two clean sheets, putting them into the final. The final was SJEB’s toughest game, and they were up for the test, defeating PDA by a 3-1 scoreline. 

U11 Boys Red

Bracket A saw three teams finish with 2-1-0 records. STA 2015B Black defeated Brooklyn United Academy B2015 Academy 3-2 on Sunday, but it was not enough to overtake Brooklyn United on Goal Differential, with Brooklyn United on +6, STA on +5 and UD Football Club on +4. Reato Soccer Academy 2015 advanced out of Bracket B going 3-0-0, winning their opening match 2-1 over Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth 2015B Pre-Academy/NEAL Blue, and their final match 3-0 over Philadelphia Union PPP 2015 Navy. The final was an extremely tight back and forth match, with Reato Soccer Academy winning the match 3-2. 

U12 Girls Red 

Philadelphia Union PPP Girls 2014 Gold allowed just one goal against in all four of their matches, with their high-powered attack leading them to a 4-0-0 record to win the championship. They recorded wins over PDA 2015G Blue, Match Fit Surf - South Jersey Barcelona, NYCFC Girls 2014 Pre-GA Aspire, and SJEB FC 14G Pre NAL. 

U13 Girls White 

The final was a battle between two teams that finished the group stages 3-0-0. Philadelphia Union PPP Girls 2013 Gold had wins of 4-2, 6-2, and 1-0 in the group stages, and PDA ECNL G2013/14 White had wins of 4-0, 2-1, and 3-1. In the final, the high-scoring thriller ended 4-4 in regulation, with PDA winning in penalty kicks to be crowned champions. 

U14 Boys Red

In one of the closest brackets throughout the weekend, Fundamental Futbol Academy advanced out of Bracket B to face off against Brooklyn United Academy B2012 ECNL RL in the final. Fundamental Futbol Academy’s first game was a 3-2 win over Stamford FC Boys 2012 Premier, followed by a 2-1 win over Ironbound SC 2012 Summer Select. On Sunday, a 1-1 draw against Marlboro SA 2012 Spartans Blue was enough to see them into the final. In the final, Fundamental Futbol Academy came away with a 1-0 victory over Brooklyn United.
