Seven States Competing, One Epic Weekend: 40 Champions Crowned at EDP Winter Classic

EDP Soccer concluded its 2025 tournament calendar over the weekend with the EDP Winter Classic. The event included over 230 teams, representing 7 different states with 40 champions being crowned across 11U-19U boys and girls divisions.

Top scoring teams for the weekend included NE Elite 2015 Boys, PSA Monmouth ‘10 Boys RL, CPA 2015G, Conshy F6AD Boys, Sporting PA 2015B Black, VE FC Aue, and Bridgeview Savage Select 2015 Boys. 28 teams finished with a perfect three points per game in the group stage, and 13 teams allowed zero goals against in the group stage.

Highlights from a few select age groups at the Winter Classic:


14U Boys

Oranje FC '12B out of San Antonio Texas were champions of the Red Bracket after four thrilling matches. An opening 3-2 win over Upper Township SA Force 2012, they then closed out day one with a close 1-0 win over Strikers Futbol Academy 2012. On Sunday, a 1-1 draw against Deptford Premier FC '12 Boys saw them claim their spot in the final. In the championship match, neither side was able to break the deadline, and regulation ended 0-0, and Oranje FC defeated Fever SC 2012 Academy Red 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout.


15U Girls

Falls SC Lady Lions 2011 Girls Premier scored five goals in their four matches, with neither game decided by more than a goal in an extremely competitive Red Bracket. An opening 2-1 win over Match Fit Surf 2011 Girls Essex NPL and then a 1-1 draw against Niskayuna SC 11/12G Select left all open to play for the final on Sunday. A 1-0 win over Manhattan SC Ajax 2011 ECNL-RL secured their spot in the final, where they would keep another clean sheet, and defeat Europa Lions FC 2011G Blue 1-0 to claim the championship.


16U Boys

Brooklyn United Academy B2010 ECNL RL went a perfect 4-0-0, with each of their four wins coming by just one goal. Opening with a high scoring thriller defeating Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Barcelona 4-3, the second game saw just one goal in their 1-0 win over Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth NAL Academy 10. A 2-1 win over United FC B2010 put them in pole position for a first-place finish, and they finished the weekend with a 1-0 win over Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth 2010B USYS.



17U Girls

Voorhees SA Wildcats 2009 and Manhattan SC Revolution 2009 ECNL-RL drew 0-0 on Sunday morning, both finishing Group A on seven points, which saw Voorhees go through to the final on the goal differential tiebreaker. In Group B, Cherry Hill FC 2009 Premier Surge bounced back from an opening 2-1 loss to defeat Potomac SA 09G Aspire 2-1. All four teams in Group B entered the final group game even on three points, and a 2-0-win over World Class FC 2009/2010 Heim put Cherry Hill FC into the final. The final was a closely played match, with Voorhees SA edging out Cherry Hill FC 2-1 for the championship.
