Premier League Platforms Compete at EDP Cup Spring 2025 – A Top Memorial Day Event in the Nation

EDP Cup Spring, a top 9U-14U Memorial Day event in the Nation, welcomed top teams to Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ. All matches were held at Tuckahoe Turf Farms, a large-scale venue creating a special tournament atmosphere, with unique matchups from the country's top league platforms. Teams were in attendance from CT, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NYE, NYW, PA, RI, and Ontario representing MLS NEXT, NAL, NEAL, GA, National League, ECNL, ECNL RL, and more!

The 14U Boys Platinum Bracket had a thrilling conclusion. Beachside MLS Next 2011 opened Group A with a 2-2 draw against SJEB FC 11B ECNL RL (NJ) and then scored 12 goals in their next matches against Western United Pioneers FC 2011 Boys Elite Red (MA) and HEX FC Dominion ECNL 11B (PAE) to book their spot in the final. In Group B, Takoma SC Dreamers River 2011 (MD) and YMS Premier Union ECNL RL (PAE) both defeated Met Oval Academy 2011 and Cohansey Premier 2011 Navy to set up a winner takes all final group game, with Takoma winning 1-0 to reach the final. The final between Beachside and Takoma was a very tight affair, with neither team able to find the back of the net and the game going to penalty kicks to decide the winner. Penalties ended 6-5 in favor of Takoma, with them taking the EDP Cup back to Maryland.     



The 13U Girls Diamon Division had all to play for Sunday morning, when Cedar Stars Academy Bergen 12G GA (NJ) and HEX FC Dominion USYS 12G took the field. Hex FC entered on 4 points, to Cedar Stars Bergen 6 points, needing a win to reach the final. Cedar Stars Bergen proved to be the better team on the day, advancing to the final with a 3-1 win. In Group B, Syracuse Development Academy 12G GA (NYW) was 1-1-0 after day one, beating Deptford Premier 3-1 and losing to Commack Stingrays 1-0. On day two, a 3-0 win by SDA over FC Westchester punched SDA’s ticket to the final with the head-to-head tie breaker over Deptford. The final was a very close competition, with the back-and-forth match ending as Cedar Stars Academy Bergen 12G GA 2 goals to Syracuse Development Academy 12G GA 1 goal.   



The 11U Boys Platinum Bracket was full of drama on Sunday morning. Group B saw NJ Premier FC B2014 (NJ) and FC Westchester 2014 Blue (NYE) both enter on 6 points, and RWB Adria Chicago (IL) enter on 3 points. With NJ Premier FC losing to Western United Pioneers, and RWB Adria Chicago holding on to a 1-0 lead to defeat FC Westchester, it meant RWB had recovered from its opening 5-4 loss to NJ Premier to top the group on 6 points with the head-to-head tie breaker. In Bracket A, AKZ Canada 2014 was 2-0-0 after day one, but lost 1-0 to World Class on Sunday morning, but held the head-to-head tiebreaker over Futboltech 2014 Man City to reach the final. In the final, RWB Adria Chicago used their momentum from earlier in the day to turn on a big offensive performance, and head back to the Midwest as EDP Cup Spring Champions.
