EDP Spring Kickoff PA 2023 Recap


This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the second annual EDP Spring Kickoff PA for 9U-17U boys teams and 9U-15U girls teams. This one-day event saw the boys compete on Saturday and the girls on Sunday at Big Show Sports Complex in Leesport, PA. The weekend’s competition had over 115 teams from more than 50 clubs, with teams from PA, DE, MD, NJ, and Canada. In the 177 games played during the event, over 650 goals were scored, and over 75% of the games were decided by three goals or less.

 
A Look At The Weekend’s Results

9U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 14B Black - Obolon finished in first place going 3-0-0. Two out of the three wins were by 3-2 scorelines, winning these exciting close matches against Northern Burlington Premier Blue Devils 2014 and Reading Rage SC '14 Dest.


In the White Bracket, Reading Rage SC '14 Adams topped the group going 3-0-0, defeating second place TSF Academy 2014 Boys Futures White 5-3 in both teams' second game.


9U Girls

In the Red Bracket, Lower Merion SC Crush Navy finished in first place, three points ahead of NJ Crush FC 2014 Academy.


In the White Bracket, NJ Crush FC 2014 National went 3-0-0, finishing three points ahead of Sporting Delaware Sporting Girls 2014 Black.


10U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Hulmeville SC Dragons came in first place with a 3-0-0 record, with the deciding game being a 3-2 win over second place Upper Dublin SC Titans Black '13.


In the White Bracket, PA Rush 2013 Nero Blue Boys went 3-0-0, and closed out the event with back-to-back one-goal wins, a 3-2 win over TSF Academy 2013 Boys Futures White and 2-1 over Reading Rage SC '13 McKennie.


10U Girls

In the Red Bracket, Middletown SC Thunder Red went 3-0-0, only allowing one goal against, topping second place Reading Rage SC '13 Mewis 1-0 to win first place.


11U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Upper Township SA Force White 2012 finished unbeaten with two wins and one draw, seeing them finish in first place, three points ahead of both Riverfront United 2012 Boys Celtic and Lower Merion Victory 2012.


In the White Bracket, Reading Rage SC '12 Reyna, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 12B Red and Harleysville FC 2012 Boys each finished 2-1-0, trading wins against one another, with Reading Rage claiming first place on goal differential.


11U Girls

In the Red Bracket, Philadelphia SC 12 Lobos won first place, recording wins of 2-0, 3-0 and 3-2.


In the White Bracket, Harleysville FC 2012 Girls defeated Back Mountain Defiance in the final, after a late goal from HFC's leading goal-scorer #7 Dani Cush.


12U Boys

In the Red Bracket, TSF Academy 2011 Boys EDP won the group going 3-0-0, winning 1-0, 2-1 and then defeating second place Lower Merion SC Irmaos Red in a thrilling, high-scoring 6-3 match.


In the White Bracket, Upper Dublin SC Phantoms Black '11 defeated Reading Rage SC '11 Mbappe 3-0 in the final.


12U Girls

In the Red Bracket, Lower Merion SC Swarm, opened up the event with a 2-2 draw against a really talented Deep Run Valley 2011 Girls Blue, and then won back-to-back games to finish in first place.


In the White Bracket, Upper Dublin SC Fire Black '11 went 3-0-0 keeping three clean sheets. They recorded wins of 1-0, 3-0, and 2-0.


13U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth NE Academy 11 Team 1 kept two clean sheets on their run to a 3-0-0 finish. Opening the day with a 1-0 win over Medford SC Mad Dogs Blue 2010, they finished with a 2-0 win over Unionville Milliken Soccer Club.


In the White Bracket, SPYA 2010 Vipers FC defeated Philadelphia SC Coppa 10 Pythons 4-1 in the final.


13U Girls

In the Red Bracket, CSSC Phoenix 10 finished one point ahead of Roxbury Venom Elite, with their 2-1 win when the two teams met the difference on the weekend. CSSC Phoenix 10 is the first-ever back-to-back champion at the EDP Spring Kickoff PA, after winning in 2022 and returning in 2023 to defend their title.


In the White Bracket, Lehigh Valley United 2010 Girls Black defeated Reading Rage SC '10 Rapinoe in the final.


14U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Reading Rage SC '09 Pulisic and FC Bucks Dominion 2009 Boys drew 0-0 in their final match, which saw both teams finish 2-0-1 and Reading Rage win the group on goal differential.


In the White Bracket, PA Mutiny Gold PMG Raptors 09 went 3-0-0, and did not allow a goal all tournament with wins of 5-0, 2-0 and a 1-0 win over second place Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 09B in the final match.


14U Girls

In the Red Bracket, each team won one match, with the final standings being Berks United FC 2009 Girl U14 Union on five points, Lancaster Elite Comets and VE Eagles on four points and NEU 2009 Tekkers on three points.


In the White Bracket, PA Dominion FC 2009 Girls II won first place going 3-0-0 with eight goals for and one goal against.


15U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Warrington FC Ochos finished 3-0-0, opening with back-to-back clean sheets before closing out their day with a 4-1 win to claim first place.


15U Girls

In the Red Bracket, Group A finished with Lancaster Elite, Reading Rage, and Keystone Athletic all tied on two points. Every single game was a 0-0 draw, which resulted in the first ever EDP Spring Kickoff PA coin flip, followed by a penalty shootout. Lancaster Elite beat Keystone in the first shootout, and then beat Rage in the second one to advance to the final. Evergreen U15 Thunder defeated Lancaster Elite Rogue 2-0 in the final.


17U Boys

In the Red Bracket, Riverfront United 2006 Boys Wolves and FC Bucks Dominion 2007 Boys II drew 0-0 in the opening match, and both went on to win their next two matches. Both teams kept clean sheets in all three games, but Riverfront found the back of the net more times, landing them in first place on goal differential.


In the White Bracket, Lancaster Elite Blue Cosmos won first place with a record of 3-0-0, allowing just one goal against.
