This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the first half of the EDP Spring Classic for 10U-19U Girls teams. The Spring Classic Girls weekend saw over 130 teams with more than 80 clubs in attendance, and teams from eight different State Associations plus Canada competing. Games were held at Green Branch Park in Pittsgrove, NJ and Iron Peak Sports and Events in Hillsborough, NJ.
The EDP Spring Classic continues this upcoming weekend with 8U-19U Boys at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ and Green Branch Park in Pittsgrove, NJ.
A Look At The Weekend’s Results
19U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Woodbridge League 1 Reserve traveled down from Canada and made the most of their trip, finishing 3-0-0 in the group stages, and going on to defeat Kearny Thistle United FC G2004 Paisley Athletic Academy in the final. Woodbridge did not allow a goal all weekend long.
In the Scarlet Bracket, Baltimore Union Soccer Club Elite 05G and Cape Express CE Comets both finished 3-0-1, and drew 2-2 in their match up. It came down to goal differential, and Baltimore Union had the edge +6 to Cape Express +4.
In the Ivory Bracket, Pasco Soccer Club Timbers defeated PA Rush 2005 Rush Girls 2-0 in the final.
17U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Gotham Girls Pelada went 3-0-0 in the group stage, and would take on World Class FC 2006 Grenz in the final who was 2-0-1. The Gotham Girls back line that kept two clean sheets in the group stages once again was tough to beat, and kept one more clean sheet, leading the team to a 2-0 championship win.
In the Scarlet Bracket, Union Soccer Usc Fury 06 defeated LI Slammers Girls 2006 White for the second time in the championship. In the group stages, Union won the match up 3-1, and in the final it was another two goal margin with a 2-0 victory.
16U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, NYSC G07 Pre-Academy and Deptford Premier FC '07 Girls both reached the final going 2-0-1 in group play, and both allowing just one goal in those three games. In the final, NYSC G07 Pre-Academy made the most of their goal-scoring opportunities, and the game finished 3-1 in their favor.
15U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Brampton SC 2008 ODPL defeated Prestige Soccer Training PST 2008G 2-1 in the final to win the championship. The squad reached the final after scoring multiple goals in each of their group stage matches, with wins of 3-0, 3-2, and 2-0.
In the Scarlet Bracket, Manalapan SC Braves 08g won the final over World Class FC 2008 Heim. After starting the weekend with a 1-1 draw against NJ14, Manalapan defeated East Meadow SC and RUSA FC on their way to the final.
14U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Sporting Delaware 09 GA won three close matches in the group stages, defeating B'Elite Player Development SC Tsunami 2009/2010 3-1, WSA Union County FC Osasuna 2-0 and Jackson SC Wolfpack 1-0. In the final, they defeated Council Rock United FC Bucks 2009 ECNL-RL 2-0.
In the Scarlet Bracket, LI Slammers Girls 2009 White reached the final when they defeated Ginga FC Girls 2009 NL 2-1 in the final group stage game, as both entered that game on four points. The Football Academy NJ 2009 Girls Black reached the final going 3-0-0, keeping two clean sheets. In the final, LI Slammers came out victorious in a very close match.
13U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Glenshields Juventus FC 2010G defeated Sporting Delaware 10 GA in the final group game which both teams entered on six points, seeing Glenshields Juventus make the final where they took on Ocean 2010G Rebels Red. Glenshields Juventus won the final 2-0.
In the Scarlet Bracket, PDA Blaze Regional opened up with a 1-1 draw against Woodbridge Strikers 2010 OPDL, and then won back-to-back games to reach the final, where they defeated Kosmos FC TST Athena.
In the Ivory Bracket, LI Slammers Girls 2010 White defeated Deptford Premier FC '10 Girls 1-0.
12U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Philadelphia SC 11 Tornadoes used their attacking talent all weekend long to lead the team to a championship. On Saturday, they won both games 5-1, and on Sunday they won 4-1 and then 4-0 in the final.
In the Scarlet Bracket, NJ14 2011 Astraea and Cherry Hill FC Junior Premier Arsenal 2011 both made the final going 2-0-1 in the group stages. In the final, NJ14 came away with the championship.
In the Ivory Bracket, Ginga FC Girls 2011 EDP defeated Monroe Township YS United 2011 in the final.
11U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, SJEB FC 12G Black took on Marlton SC Orange Chiefs 2012 in the final. SJEB FC went 2-0-1 in the group stage, and Marlton SC went 3-0-0. SJEB FC won the final 3-0.
In the Scarlet Bracket, FC Copa G12 EDP won the final, ending the weekend with back-to-back 2-0 wins, including a 2-0 win over The Football Academy NJ 2012 Girls Gold in the championship.
10U Girls
In the Royal Bracket, Upper Freehold/Allentown SA UFA Flames went 4-0-0, keeping three clean sheets, and were dominant in all four of their matches.
