Taylor Calheira, a junior at Division 1 program UMBC continues his impressive collegiate career with another fantastic match. On Friday (9/2), Calheira scored the quickest goal in program history, scoring just 11 seconds in against St Francis NY. He finished the match with two goals and one assist, leading the team to their third straight win.
The team is now 4-0-0 after another win on Sunday, and Calheira has three goals and three assists on the season. He has 14 goals and eight assists for his career. In his first two seasons, he was 2021 America East First Team, 2021 United Soccer Coaches Northeast Regional team and America East All-Rookie Team (Spring 2021).
While a member of BRAUSA United 02, Calheira was the leading scorer in the 2018-2019 National League with eight goals, and played in the 2019 Allstate All-American game, an honor for the top high school players in the country. He also participated in the National League in 2019-2020 and reached the finals of the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships in 2019.
