This past weekend, EDP Soccer held the EDP Fall Kickoff New Jersey, EDP Soccer’s second tournament of the 2022-2023 season. Over 120 teams from more than 60 clubs were in attendance, with 80% of teams scoring at least one goal per game and 75% of the teams finishing with three or more points in group play across the evenly matched brackets. Top attacking talent was on display all weekend long, which was highlighted by the over 1,200 goals scored. The Football Academy NJ 2012 Girls Black and 2013 Girls Black were the top two scoring teams of the entire competition.
The event was held at EDP Soccer’s premier facility—Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ.
A Look At Some of The Weekend’s Results:
9U Boys
TSF Academy 2014 Boys Futures Blue was perfect through group play, winning all three matches and keeping three clean sheets in the process. In the final they took on a tough The Football Academy NJ 2014 Boys Silver, and TSF Academy allowed their first goal of the tournament, but pulled out the win in the close match to win the final.
10U Girls
The Football Academy NJ 2013 Girls Black was one of the top performing teams of the weekend, and defeated Cherry Hill SC Impact 2013 4-0 in the final.
10U Boys
Futboltech 2013 Bayern finished in first place of the Red Bracket, with their 4-2 win over The Football Academy NJ 2013 Boys Black the deciding game in the group. In the White Bracket, Montclair United MU Boys 2013 Blue won the final 4-1.
11U Girls
Freehold SL Elite Freedom and The Football Academy NJ 2012 Girls Black were the two top teams in the age group throughout the weekend, and met in the final game to decide the championship. In a back and forth match, Freehold SL came away with a 2-1 victory to win the championship.
11U Boys
Futboltech 2012 Barcelona and The Football Academy FA 2012 Boys Gold drew 3-3 during group play, and had a rematch in the final, where Futboltech found a second gear and came away with a 6-3 victory to win the Red Bracket. In the White Bracket, Coppermine SC Boys 2013 Premier I went 4-0-0 to finish in first place.
12U Girls
Freehold SL Elite Thunder won the clubs second championship of the event when they defeated FC Bucks 2011 Fireworks 2-1 in the final. In group play, they kept two clean sheets and won all three of their matches.
12U Boys
Futboltech 2011 Chelsea faced two difficult South Jersey rivals on the way to the championship. In group play, they drew 1-1 with Cohansey Premier 2011 Navy, and then took on SJEB FC 11B Red in the final, who entered 3-0-0. In the final, Futboltech narrowly edged out SJEB FC to win the Red Bracket. In the White Bracket, SJEB FC 11B Black defeated Commack Vipers B11 from NY in the final, Jackson SC Tecnica Elite Soccer '11 Boys won the Blue Bracket and PSA Monmouth '11 Boys Orange won the Yellow Bracket.
13U Girls
FC Bucks 2010 SB defeated PDA South Rowdies 2010 in their first match, setting themselves up for 3 more wins and a first place finish in the Red Bracket. In the White Bracket, Hamilton Elite FC 2010 Sand Sharks NL EDP defeated SJEB FC 10G EDP in the final.
13U Boys
The Football Academy NJ 2010 Boys Black drew PSA Monmouth '10 Boys Elite 2-2 in their final group stage, having them finish 1 point above TSF Academy 2010 Boys N.E.A.L to reach the final, where they would win 2-1 to go home as champions of the Red Bracket. In the White Bracket, Jackson SC Tecnica Elite Soccer '10 Boys defeated Match Fit Academy FC 2010 ECNL Regional in the final.
14U Girls
East Greenwich SA Kingsway Premier 09G was led by a high-powered attack, winning all four of their matches during the tournament, and scoring multiple goals in every game on their way to claim the championship.
14U Boys
Future SA 09 defeated Yardley Makefield Soccer 2009 Boys Premier Warriors 3-0 to win the final of the Red Bracket. In the Blue Bracket, Commack Pride B09 went 3-0-1 with wins of 2-0, 2-0 and 3-0 to finish in first place. Cherry Hill FC 2009 Premier Chaos beat Match Fit Academy FC ECNL Regional 2009 in the final of the Blue Bracket, and Medford SC United 2009 won the Yellow Bracket.
15U Girls
FC Bucks 2009 Vipers and NLSA 2009 Girls Elite both went 3-0-0 through group play, and in the final, it was the FC Bucks back line that once again showed its strength, keeping the talented NLSA attack in check, as FC Bucks won the final 2-0, tallying their third clean sheet.
