EDP Fall Classic 2023 Tournament Recap

This weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the EDP Fall Classic 2023, one of the most popular tournaments of the season. Over 360 teams participated, including teams from NJ, PA, NY, CT, DE, MA, MD, RI, VA and Canada from over 110 different clubs. Champions were crowned across 53 Divisions, with divisions for 8U-19U Boys and 9U-19U Girls. Games were played at Tuckahoe Turf Farms, Green Branch Park, Friendship Fields, and Sawmill YMCA.

The tournament had very evenly matched brackets, with only 15% of teams recording a perfect three points per game in the group stage, and over 80% of teams recording at least one point. Only eight teams managed to keep a clean sheet in all three group stage matches, with FC Copa Academy leading that category with two teams accomplishing the feat. Of the 16 clubs who played 20 or more games in the group stages, Jersey Shore Boca had the best points per game averaging 2.0 and goals against per game with 1.20, and Cedar Stars Academy North averaged the most goals per game with 3.53. Match Fit Academy FC, The Football Academy NJ, NJ Premier FC, and FC Copa Academy were the four clubs who scored 100+ goals in the group stages.
