EDP Cup Spring 2023 Tournament Preview

This Memorial Day Weekend, EDP Soccer will host the EDP Cup Spring, annually ranked one of the top events in the nation by GotSoccer. The event will feature over 240 9U-14U boys and girls teams from more than 100 different clubs. All games will take place at Tuckahoe Turf Farms, one of the premier venues in the country. The tournament is one of EDP Soccer’s three events over Memorial Day Weekend, and will see clubs from all over the Northeast and Canada compete in a total of 445 games.

The brackets feature best vs best competition, with teams from the nation’s top leagues taking part, creating opportunities for quality teams from different leagues to compete against each other. Teams from USYS National League Conferences, MLS Next, ECNL, Girls Academy League, National Academy League, USYS National League Conferences, and EDP League will all be in action.


A look at some of the event's top brackets:

The 13U Boys Platinum Bracket features teams from MLS Next, ECNL, USYS National League Conferences plus a top international side. East York SC Atletico 2010 travels down from Canada, and will open up against YMS 2010 Boys Premier United, who is unbeaten in their last 13 USYS National League Mid Atlantic Conference games, and reached the PA-East State Cup Final last Saturday. Barca Academy Pro NY B2010 PRO is unbeaten in the USYS National League North Atlantic Conference game and will be in the NY-East State Cup Final next week. Three of the four top teams from the ECNL Northeast ECNL Division are also in the group, with first-place World Class FC, third-place CFC and fourth-place Manhattan SC. Beachside U13 MLS NEXT 2010 enters looking to continue their impressive season, where they have got a result in 18 of their 21 games in the prestigious MLS Next League. The bracket is rounded out with Futboltech 2010 - Ajax, who got results in 11 of their last 13 USYS National League Mid Atlantic Conference games.

The 14U Girls Diamond Bracket will see teams from three different USYS National League Conferences and two Girls Academy League Divisions. Sporting Delaware GA and Cedar Stars Bergen GA represent the Girls Academy League, with Sporting Delaware on a great run of form this Spring. They have recently defeated PA Classics, Baltimore Celtic SC and Metro ASA. Jersey Shore Boca O’Hara will look to continue to play giant killer, and will try to win their fourth consecutive EDP Cup. In Fall 2022, they defeated Philadelphia Ukrainian National GA in the final, in Spring 2022 they defeated SJEB GA, and in Fall 2021 they defeated Real Jersey FC GA in the final. Legacy 2009 Girls Pride will play in their first EDP Cup, and is one of the top teams in Massachusetts right now. They are 5-0-1 in first place of the USYS National League New England Conference and won the MA State Cup. The group also includes top USYS National League Conference teams Wall Elite Spirit, Brooklyn United Academy G2009 National and NJ Premier G2009.
