EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2022 Boys Tournament Recap


This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the second part of its EDP Cup Fall Showcase, annually ranked as one of the top showcases in the nation by GotSoccer. The weekend featured 15U-19U Boys with games played at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ and Green Branch Park in Pittsgrove, NJ. Teams from the MLS NEXT, USYS National League and ECNL were all in attendance, creating high level match-ups ideal for college coaches to identify top players. Over 250 teams from over 120 different clubs participated during the weekend, representing eight different State Associations and Canada.

Over 100 College Coaches from Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 schools attended the showcase, proving that it continues to be one of the top recruiting events in the region. Schools from the Big East, Ivy League, Patriot League, Atlantic 10, CAA, MAAC, NEC, NJAC, NESCAC, Centennial Conference, Atlantic East Conference were just some of the high profile conferences in attendance. EDP Soccer’s partnership with SportsRecruits and Next Level Video enhanced the recruiting experience for players and college coaches at the event by providing them with video footage for each game and complimentary access to Digital Player Profiles.



Highlights From This Past Weekend:


MLS NEXT Friendlies

TSF Academy, Real Jersey FC and Cedar Stars Monmouth were in action with their 19U, 17U, 16U and 15U teams and were joined by the top performing USYS National League Mid Atlantic Conference teams from the 2021 USYS National Championships. These teams include National Champions Cedar Stars North 2004, FC Europa 2006, FC Bucks Dominion 2007, and YMS 2008. Each of the eight games were extremely competitive, with each club winning matches over the weekend.


19U Boys

In the Platinum Blue bracket, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 04/05B went 3-0-0 to top the group. They opened up the event with a 2-1 victory over ECNL, and then shut out STA 2004/2005 ECNL 2-0. They wrapped up the weekend with a strong 3-1 win over BRAUSA '04 Blue. In the Platinum Red bracket, SJEB FC 05B Academy won the group going 3-0-0. After starting with a 3-0 win over Cedar Stars Academy Hudson Valley Boys 2005, they had an extremely close fought battle with FC Florida 2005, which saw a first half goal be the difference in the 1-0 win. On Sunday, they defeated BRAUSA '05 Blue 3-0 to win first place. Other top performing teams included Lehigh Valley United 2004/5 Boys - U18/19 ECNL, FC Frederick FCF '04 Boys, FC Revolution FC Revolution Gunners, Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouth NE Academy 04/05, and Harrison SC Elite.


17U Boys

In the Platinum bracket, STA 2006B ECNL won the group going 2-1-0, as four of the six teams each had a win and Vaughan, the lone team without win, finished with two draws. STA opened the event with back-to-back clean sheets over Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Elite 64 06B and Dix Hills EST Ultimatum B2006 before falling 3-1 to FC Florida 2006. Other top performing teams included, Milton Showcase, Manhattan SC Wolves 2006 ECNL, FC Somers Red Bulls, and Real Jersey FC 2006 USYS EDP.



16U Boys

In the Platinum bracket, it was very evenly matched with a wide variety of teams. CS St-Hubert and Vaughan SC both traveled down from Canada, with CS St-Hubert having one of the most exciting games of the weekend when they drew 4-4 against Manhattan SC Roma 2007 ECNL. The group also included Lehigh Valley United 2007 Boys ECNL and FC Florida 2007. Other top performing teams included Brooklyn Italians EDP BLUE 2007, New York Elite Alleycats FC 2007 NEAL, TSF Academy 2007 Boys N.E.A.L, Dix Hills EST Harbour View B2007, NJ Stallions 07 Real USYS EDP, New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer Club Cougars NL, and FC Revolution Blast.


15U Boys

In the Platinum bracket, FCE-LMSC 2008 Thunder finished in first place with a record of 2-0-1. After an opening game 2-2 draw against Brooklyn Italians, they returned Sunday and defeated CS St-Hubert from Canada 2-0, and then defeated World Class FC 2008 ECNL 2-1 to win the championship, as both teams entered the game on four points. Other top performing teams included Future SA 08 DC, CJFA Juventus, NJ Blaze 08 Black, NJ Surf South Marlton 08B, East Meadow Soccer Club ECNL Napoli, New York Elite Alleycats FC 2008 NEAL, and Northeast Cantolao FC 08 Boys.
