This weekend, EDP Soccer will host the EDP Cup Fall, the nation's top Columbus Day weekend tournament. The event is highlighted by teams from all three local MLS Academies – Philadelphia Union, NY Red Bulls and New York City FC, as well as teams from the nation's elite platforms. Top teams from MLS Next, Girls Academy League, ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, National Academy League, USYS National League, and the EDP Soccer League will all be in attendance creating a best vs best atmosphere. Over 500 teams will be competing from over 10 State Associations, representing the East Region, Midwest Region, South Region, and Canada.
A look at some match-ups in the Platinum and Diamond Brackets:
14U Boys
The 14U Boys Platinum Bracket features three teams who reached the knockout stage of USYS Eastern Regional Championships last Spring, YMS 2010 Boys Premier United, East Coast Football Club B2010 ECNL/RL, and The Football Academy NJ 2010 Boys Silver. YMS will look to their midfield duo of Brody Collins and Levin DiCicco, while The Football Academy NJ will be anchored by center back Thomas Hunt, as both sides aim to knock off two of ECNL’s most prominent clubs – Manhattan SC and Arlington SA – in Bracket B. In Bracket A, East Coast FC will be led by star striker Hector Santiago while World Class FC will look to their skillful midfield of Michael Fenton and Aiden Siavichay. Rounding out the Bracket is STA-MUSC 2010B ECNL who finished 1-1-1 in the Platinum Bracket at the EDP Cup Fall 2022, and FC DELCO NAL '10 from the National Academy League.
13U Boys
The 13U Boys Platinum Bracket is highlighted by SYC Soccer SYC U13B MLS Next from Virginia, who was an USYS Eastern Regional Finalist last Spring, and are off to a successful start in their MLS Next campaign. They are joined in Bracket A by EJE7 from Florida, a group of talented players led by former US Soccer World Cup player Eddie Johnson. SYC and EJ7 will play against Keystone FC Premier 11B and top attacking midfielder Ben Gustafson, and Coppermine SC Boys 2011 Elite 64 who will look to speedy winger Parker Shiel who will make things difficult for opposing back lines. Bracket B will see Canada’s top ranked team AIFC Toronto return to EDP Cup Fall, the only event the team did not finish in first place at last season. Sporting PA 2011 Boys Irmaos has been one of Pennsylvania's top teams for the past few years, and STA-MUSC 2011B ECNL returns to defend their EDP Cup Fall 2022 Championship. Arlington SA 2011B ECNL rounds out the Platinum division, entering as the third-ranked team in Virginia.
12U Boys
The 12U Boys Platinum Blue Bracket includes three MLS Clubs, with Philadelphia Union in Bracket A and both NY Red Bulls and NYCFC in Bracket B. Bracket B also includes MLS Next Clubs FC DELCO Pre-MLS Next Black '12 and Michigan Jaguars Pre MLS 2012 Boys. Challenging Philadelphia Union in Bracket A is MLS Next club BW Gottschee '12 Blue, EJE7, and Monmouth United Soccer 2012 Boys Premier. The Platinum Red Bracket A welcomes Glen Shields Juventus FC 2012 Boys from Canada who will take on World Class FC 2012 ADL NL, PDA 2012 Pre-MLS Next Blue, and Keystone FC Premier 12B. Bracket B has three MLS Next clubs with SAC/BA Boys 2012 - Pre-Academy, Sporting Athletic Club 2012 Pre-MLS Black, and New York Red Bulls - Stars joined by Key Biscayne SC KBSC Elite 2012 from Florida.
11U Boys
The 11U Boys Platinum Red Bracket A opens up with an exciting match-up between SYC 2013 Pre-MLS Next BW Gottschee '13 Blue, a game that will see one of the top 2014 players in the tournament – SYC’s Cesar Santana. The Bracket also includes MLS side New York Red Bulls Pre-Academy 2013 North, and Monmouth United Soccer MUSC 2013 Boys Premier. Bracket B will try to knock off MLS side Philadelphia Union Junior Academy 2013, who were champions at EDP Cup Fall 2022. The teams battling against the Union will be Torpedoes BU11 Red - Arsenal, Futboltech 2013 - Bayern, and Coppermine SC Boys 2013 Blue who lost 3-2 to the Union last year at the event in the group’s deciding game. The Platinum Blue Division has teams from six different state associations. Bracket A contains Real Jersey FA 2013 (NJ), McLean YS 2013 Boys Green Pre-ECNL (VA), Sporting Athletic Club 2013 Pre-MLS Black (DE), and Flower City FC (NYW). Bracket B has SAC/BA SAC Boys 2013 - Pre-Academy (MD), STA-MUSC 2013B Pre-ECNL (NJ), New York Red Bulls Pre-Academy 2013 NY (NJ), and PA Rush 2013 Rush Boys (PAE).
14U Girls
The 14U Girls Diamond Division will see Montis 2010F LDP from Quebec take on a team from NY, PA, and NJ. Match Fit Academy FC 2010 Girls Shore ECRL enters in tremendous form with a fast start in ECRL, and Warrington FC United has been one of the top teams in USYS National League Mid Atlantic Conference. New York Soccer Club 10G GA enters with a strong showing in Girls Academy League so far, with each of their games decided by one goal or less. Bracket B is led by SJEB FC 10G GA, who is currently unbeaten in the Girls Academy League behind attacking duo Mya Narcisi and Caity Ramsi. Taking on SJEB FC in Bracket B is NJ Crush FC 2010 ECNL RL, Catonsville Cobras 2010 Girls Gold, and USYS Eastern Regional participant Wall Elite Juventus.
13U Girls
The 13U Girls Diamond group will have teams from multiple different national platforms – Girls Academy, ECNL, ECRL, National Academy League, and USYS National League. Bracket A has two teams from Girls Academy – New York Soccer Club 11G GA and Real Jersey FA 11G GA. They are joined by Lehigh Valley United 2011 Girls Black and Marlton Chiefs Premier 2011. Bracket B will see two of the top forwards in the age group with Grace Dorman from HEX FC Bucks ECNL 11G, and Jacqueline Goldovsky from NJ Premier G2011. They will take on Match Fit Academy FC 2011 Girls Shore ECRL, and SJEB FC 11G GA who are currently ranked fourth in the Nation.
12U Girls
The 12U Girls Diamond group has Tournament Time 2012 Girls traveling down from Canada to take on the top teams from the tri-state area. New York Soccer Club 12G Pre-GA and Torpedoes GU12 Red both enter with impressive resumes, and Match Fit Academy FC 2012 Girls Shore have won two of their last four tournaments. In Bracket B, HEX FC Bucks Pre-ECNL 12G has won their last two tournaments and are ranked 29th in the Nation. They open against Wall Elite Porto, who had a very strong showing at EDP Cup Fall 2022. NYCFC Girls 2012 North won the EDP North Atlantic Division 1 West last Spring and Mantua Township SA Elite Storm 2012 will be playing in their first EDP Cup.
11U Girls
The 11U Girls Diamond Bracket A matches up teams from four different states. New York Soccer Club G2013 Blue finished as EDP League Cup Finalist last Spring, and are one of the region's top teams. They will open up against AC Connecticut G13 EDP Championship before taking on Match Fit Academy FC 2013 Girls Shore Blue, and Council Rock United FC Bucks 2013 Girls Courage who have had a strong start to their season. Bracket B has Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Reign, who were champions of the EDP Memorial Day Classic, Old Bridge SC Storm White who recently won the iSE STA Fall Kick-Off 2023, New York Soccer Club G2013 White, and Brooklyn United Academy PSU G2013 Milan.
