EDP Cup Fall 2023 Best XI Girls

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s EDP Cup Fall 2023. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to the following players who were selected.

The Girls Best XI from the EDP Cup Fall 2023 are:

#19 Tessa Collins - Middletown SC Courage Red

Over the four games, Tessa conceded zero goals in regulation play. She also saved three PKs over the entire tournament, helping the team to win in PKs in the final.

#7 Madeleine Lawyer - SJEB FC 14G Red

Madeleine brought relentless energy to the squad this weekend and improved her decision-making throughout the two days. She improved her ability to beat people on the dribble, switch the point of attack, and play backwards when necessary. Her game-winner in the final off of a free kick was simply icing on the cake of her great performance.

#13 Ellen McKeever - Match Fit Academy FC 2013 Girls Shore Blue

Ellen played center back and led the team to three shutouts. The team prides itself on defending hard all over the field and Ellen is the cornerstone of those defensive principles. They also pride themselves on being a possession-based team and Ellen starts a lot of our build-up play by making excellent decisions and staying calm under pressure.

#13 Eleni Koromilos - Tournament Time U12G GA Elites

Elli stood out in every game she played for Tournament Time (GA Elites). Every game she got loads of goals and assists. Her technical skills are very advanced for her age. The referees and other coaches watching the games said she was one of the top 2012 girls they ever saw. Her ability to dribble past, not 1-2 players, but 3-4 players and still not lose the ball is incredible. She has the ability to change the game. Elli helped Tournament time (GA Elites) win the final of the Diamond Division and remain undefeated throughout the tournament.

#5 Natalie D'Agostino - HEX FC Bucks ECNL 11G

Natalie's play for the Hex FC Bucks team this weekend was excellent, her 1v1 defending, positioning, along with her decision-making was on point all weekend, leading her team to winning the championship.

#16 Stevie Ormsby - Real Jersey FA 11G GA

Stevie played almost every minute of every game and had two goals from the center back position. She led the defense to two shutouts and only three goals against throughout the tournament.

#12 Jackie Brownlee - SJEB FC 10G GA

Jackie's fire power in front of goal gave SJEB the platform for success - scoring goals in crucial moments giving the team confidence to continue to play with flair and determination to get over the line — scoring seven goals — giving defenders a hard time by never stopping to make runs forward all weekend.

#1 Lillie Lazzari - Match Fit Academy FC 2010 Girls Shore ECRL

Lillie is the team's goalkeeper and led them to three shutouts during the group stage. This weekend's weather posed a very difficult environment for goalkeepers with high winds and even some rain. Lillie focused through the tough conditions and kept three clean sheets and made excellent decisions with her distribution to start our build-up play. Even though we lost the final, she made some big saves to keep us in the game and give us a chance to make a comeback.

#18 Delia Stango - AC Connecticut G11 USYS National League

Delia was dominant all weekend long. She was an engine at the back but in the team's time of need she moved into an attacking position scoring some crucial goals. A great all round player, teammate, and highly-competitive individual who played a crucial role for her team bringing home the championship and scoring six goals.

#1 Anarose Lopez - FC Copa Academy G12 Black Rutgers

Leading from the GK position from game one, she was a great team player, setting the tone for the rest to follow. She kept two clean sheets in four games and had a HUGE save in the FINAL to keep the score tied, before the team put away goals to secure the win.

#20 Charlotte Cadigan - NJ Premier FC G2013

Charlotte displayed outstanding dribbling, crosses, and a lot of goals throughout the weekend leading NJ Premier to a first-place finish.
