EDP Central Jersey Invitational Draws 300+ Teams, Crowns 47 Champions

The EDP Central Jersey Invitational, one of the biggest summer events in the region, concluded on Sunday, with 47 champions being crowned. More than 300 teams representing over 70 clubs from 4 states were in attendance. Twenty-three Clubs won championships, led by Philadelphia Union Select with 11, PDA with 4, Futboltech, PSA Monmouth, and Wall SC with 3, five clubs with 2 and thirteen clubs with 1 championship.

U11 Girls Red

The Girls U11 Red saw Philadelphia Union 2015 Girls Select Gold come out of Bracket A with a 3-0-0 record. They kept 3 clean sheets, with wins of 3-0, 4-0, and 3-0. Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 15G Red - Summer Select came out of Bracket B, with a thrilling 5-4 win over The Football Academy NJ 2015 Girls Gold the difference between the first and second place team. In the final, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals was finally able to breakthrough the Philadelphia Union for a goal, but Philadelphia Union continued to show its quality as it had all event, coming away with a 3-1 victory. 

U9 Girls Blue

The Girls U9 Blue final was a battle between PTS 2017/18 Girls Neon and Wall Elite Swansea, who both finished 2-0-1 in group play. Both sides finished day 1 on 4 points, and commanding wins on Sunday morning put them into the final. In the final, Wall Elite Swansea played a complete game, with the defense keeping a clean sheet and the attack scoring 4 goals to win the championship. 


U10 Boys Red

The Boys U10 Red saw one of the most impressive attacking teams of the tournament, DYFRNT FC 2017. Putting on an impressive performance in each match, they opened the event with a 7-5 win over Futevol Premier 2016 Barcelona and closed the event with a 7-5 win over Philadelphia Union 2016 Boys Select Gold in the final. 


U9 Boys Blue

 The Boys U9 Blue final was a battle between two 3-0-0 sides. NJ Premier FC advanced to the finals with wins of 3-1, 6-3 ad 7-3 and PDA Hibernian Weah advancing winning each game by at least 3 goals. In the final, it was another high scoring affair, with PDA Hibernian once again winning by 3 goals by a 7-4 scoreline.
