Girls Recap - USYS National League Regional Showcase NJ 2024

EDP Soccer hosted the first half of the USYS National League Regional Showcase NJ, on April 20-21, featuring teams in the 15U-19U Girls age groups. Over 170 Girls teams were in action at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, N.J., creating an ideal recruiting opportunity with all games being played at just one venue. Teams from four different USYS National League Conferences and Elite 64 were all in attendance, with some tremendous games being played over the weekend.

19U Girls

The 19U Girls Diamond Bracket saw RUSA and FC Revolution – two of the top National League teams in the nation throughout each team's history – both have successful weekends. Both sides recorded clean sheets and big wins over DUSC and TSJFCV United 05/06G North. Each team won a hard-fought battle over Chelsea Piers SC Levante to finish the weekend 3-0-0. In the Ruby Bracket, Stony Brook LGN SC United G2006 opened with a 1-1 draw against West-Mont United SA 2005/06G Elite 64, and then went on to defeat HEX FC Dominion USYS 06G 2-1, and Morris Elite SC USL Blue USYS E64 Girls 4-1.  

17U Girls 

The 17U Girls Diamond Bracket saw NYCFC Girls 2007/2008 South open with a 10-goal thriller, drawing 5-5 against NJ Surf South Shore 07G. They then scored four goals in their second match, defeating NJ State Cup finalist West Deptford Fury 2007, 4-1, and closed out their weekend with another dominant offensive performance, defeating HEX FC Dominion USYS 07G, 4-0. In the Ruby Bracket, SJEB FC 07G NL defense stood strong all weekend, keeping three clean sheets while leading the team to a 2-0-1 finish. The weekend started with 1-0 wins over PMYSL Crush and AC Connecticut G2007 USYS National, and then drew 0-0 against New York Elite Capital Elite FC Blue Crush. 

16U Girls 

The 16U Girls Diamond Bracket had Canadian side Glen Shields Juventus FC 2008G come in and go an impressive 3-0-0 against three of Pennsylvania’s top sides. They recorded 3-0 wins over both HEX FC Dominion USYS 08G and Sporting PA 2008 Girls, and had a very strong attacking performance in their big win over Yardley Makefield Soccer 2008 Girls Premier Spirit NL EDP. In the Ruby Bracket, AC Connecticut G2008 USYS National went 3-0-0. They defeated Philadelphia SC Coppa 08 Express and FC Revolution Eclipse both 2-0, and defeated West-Mont United S.A 2008G Elite 64 2-1.

15U Girls 

The 15U Girls Diamond Bracket had HEX FC Dominion USYS 09G keep three consecutive clean sheets to go 3-0-0. Opening with a big 4-0 win over SYC 2009G National League, they then had back-to-back 1-0 wins over Chelsea Piers SC Nice and Penn FC Youth 2009 F Black. In the Ruby Bracket, Steel United PA 09G Elite began their weekend with a big 7-3 win over DUSC. They followed that up with 1-0 wins over Long Island SC 2009 Academy II and FC Somers Shamrocks.
