EDP Easter Showcase 2024 Recap



On Friday and Saturday of Easter Weekend, EDP Soccer hosted one of the longest-running showcase events in NJ — the EDP Easter Showcase at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ. This year's showcase hosted over 150 15U-19U teams from 90+ clubs from MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, Ontario, and Quebec. More than 200 games were played, all at the same venue.  

Twelve teams scored 10 or more goals over the weekend, led by NJ Stallions Napoli 08 Boys with 14 goals. Three teams won three matches while giving up zero goals — Inter Connecticut 2007 Boys RL2, Markham FC 2009 OPDL Boys, and PA Classics NAL 08.

19U Boys 

The Platinum Bracket saw two teams from the Jersey Shore both finish with 2-0-1 records. Match Fit Academy Ocean 2005/2006 opened with a 1-1 draw against Warrington FC Force 06, followed by back-to-back three-goal games with a 3-2 win over Medford Strikers Academy Boys 2006, and a 3-1 win over NEFC North Shore Boys 2005/2006 NL. PSA Monmouth Elite 64 06/05B also opened with a 1-1 draw against NEFC. They then defeated Warrington 2-0 and Medford Strikers 2-1. Hamilton Elite FC Premier 05B went 3-0-0 to win the Gold Bracket, and Kearny Thistle United FC B2005 USYS NL won the Silver Bracket. Other winners included Canadian side ARSEQ and Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Maradona. 


19U Girls 

STA MOSC 2005/06G NAL won the Ruby Bracket, defeating Kearny Thistle United FC G2005 Paisley Athletic Academy in the final game. STA entered with four points, while Kearny entered on six points, and STA won the hard-fought battle 1-0 to leave as champions. ENCO United SC won the Emerald Bracket, and Back Mountain Impact 2006 won the Sapphire Bracket, defeating second-place SJEB FC 05/06 EDP in the final game. 



17U Boys 

In the Platinum Bracket, the Canadian sides showed their strength, with two teams finishing 3-0-0. Futsal Club Toronto kept two clean sheets and defeated Long Island Premier FC 07 3-2 in their closest game. The Scarborough Academy 07 also kept two clean sheets, winning two one-goal games. A 1-0 win over Long Island Premier FC, and a 2-1 win over Southampton Soccer Club Academy 2007. In the Gold Bracket, five out of the six teams finished between six to four points in the standings, with Lehigh Valley United 2007 Boys ECNL-RL finishing in first place on six points, and Inter Connecticut 2007 Boys RL and PSA Monmouth '07 NL both on five points. Other bracket winners included Long Island SC Boys 2007 Academy, ENCO '07 Boys Red, NJ Stallions 07 Real USYS EDP, and Inter Connecticut 2007 Boys RL2. 


17U Girls 

FC Boston Bolts U17 West Girls RAL head back to Massachusetts as champions of the Ruby Bracket. Opening with a 0-0 draw against STA MOSC 2007G NAL, they then defeated TSF Academy 2007 Girls 1-0 to set themselves up to win the event on Sunday. On Sunday, the side had a statement win over SISC Freedom 2007 Girls to claim first place. In the Emerald Bracket, Sound Beach United and Penn Fusion SA Reds 2007 both went 2-1-0 at the top of the table. 



16U Boys 

PDA Hibernian Danubia 2008 and FC Durham Academy 2008B OPDL both went 2-0-1, drawing their match against each other as each team finished at the top of the table in the Platinum Bracket. PDA played three Canadian sides, including defeats of The Scarborough Academy and Futsal Club Toronto. FC Durham’s win came over Inter Connecticut 2008 Boys RL and Princeton SA Elite 64 08B. In the Gold Bracket, YMS 2008 Boys Fury and Kearny Thistle United FC B2008 EDP Black both allowed just one goal over the weekend, in a 1-1 draw against each other, as they both finished on seven points. Other bracket winners included PA Classics NAL 08, Franklin Township SC United Elite 2008 Boys, Harrison SC United 2008, and PSA Monmouth '08 Boys EDP.  


16U Girls 

Philadelphia SC Coppa 08 Express started their tournament with a tough 1-0 win over The Football Academy NJ 2008 Girls Black, followed by a 1-1 draw against STA MOSC 2008G NAL. Kearny Thistle United FC G2008 Paisley Athletic Academy won both their day one matches, defeating NLSA 2008 Girls ECNL-RL 1-0 and Northeast Cantolao FC 08 Girls Flame 2-1. On day two, the two sides met, and Philadelphia SC Coppa defeated Kearny Thistle United FC 3-0 to grab first place. Rancocas Valley SC Dragons 2008 went a perfect 3-0-0 to win the Emerald Bracket, and NJ Stallions 08 Phoenix EDP won the Sapphire Bracket.
