USYS Regional Showcase New Jersey Girls 2022 Best XI

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s USYS Regional Showcase NJ Girls event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected. The Best XI from the USYS Regional Showcase NJ Girls are:

QUICKSTRIKE FC 2004 NL - ANNA MAGGI #24

Anna completed the weekend with four goals and one assist and her efforts were an integral part of the team going 3-0 on the weekend. She was a constant threat on the flanks and found ways to impact the game offensively and defensively through her work-rate. Anna is a true competitor and showed up in all three games this weekend.

FC COPA ACADEMY G03/04 BLACK - EMILY JOZAK #25

Emily Jozak was FC Copa's focal point at forward, converting multiple goals and providing exceptional hold-up play for the team. The Albany commit's strength and poise allowed the offense to flow around her and for the team to get numbers involved in the attack.

NIRVANA COURAGE 04/03 - MEGAN STOWELL #14

Megan led Nirvana with six goals and five assists, leading Nirvana to a 3-0-0 record with wins over STA, NJ Premier and Millville.

STONY BROOK-LGN ARSENAL G2005 - MADISON KEENAN #13

Team captain Madison Keenan was the stand out player for Arsenal as they went 3-0-0 in the top bracket. From her last minute winner in the opening game versus Wall Soccer Club, to providing an assist for the equalizing goal in the final game vs Elizabeth YSC, Madison demonstrated leadership qualities that drove her team on to success. Constantly winning tackles, dominating in the air from set pieces, and driving the ball up the field with her penetrating runs from deep, she constantly was an inspiration to her teammates with continued communication and encouragement for their efforts.

FC COPA ACADEMY G06 BLACK - HAILEY "SANTI" SANTIAGO #7

Santi led the weekend in points for FC Copa Academy 2006 Black by scoring five goals and assisting in goal over the three matches in the top Diamond Bracket. Santi continued her ways this weekend as she unbalanced the opponent in their defensive third allowing others on the team to join the attack.

SYRACUSE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SDA 2006G - AMBER CLARKE #15

Amber was one of the key players in SDA's attack while playing center forward. She scored a hat trick vs RUSA and scored the second goal vs FC Copa with her tremendous pressure on the ball. Amber's physicality and speed on the field causes tremendous problems for defenses and makes her very hard to defend with just one player. She was a big reason SDA 06 girls were unbeaten at this Showcase.

SYRACUSE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SDA 2006G - RYAN COLTON #6

Colton plays the attacking midfield position and was consistently in all three games and one of the most creative players at the Showcase. She was a handful for the opposing team's defenders and drew two game winning penalties for her team to beat NJ Premiere and FC Copa. A fierce player on both sides of the ball helping her SDA 06 team to go undefeated on the weekend.

RUSA FC 06G GOLD - MADDIE HICKS #8

Maddie played great all weekend. She worked tirelessly up and down the flank. Shutting down her side of the field and also picking up two goals on the weekend including a game winner.

THE FOOTBALL ACADEMY NJ 2006 GIRLS BLACK - MOLLY MARTYS #15

As the holding midfielder, Molly was the heart and engine of the team on and off the ball. She constantly broke down plays, made huge tackles, drove forward, provided key passes as well as contributed to two goals, one being the match winner in the final game!

FC COPA ACADEMY G07 GREY - MISAN UDUAGHAN #55

Misan had an amazing showing this weekend, with her speed and intensity she was a constant danger for the opponents and created a lot of opportunities for our team that led them to win all three games.

NJ PREMIER FC G2007 - KAITLYN CONNORS #8

Connors, the team captain, is a very strong attacking player that scores a lot of goals and creates a lot of opportunities for the team with her runs, passes and the technical ability and strength to hold the ball up as a target player. She played a very important role in the team’s outstanding performance at the USYS Regional Showcase.
