Kenan Hot Follows Family's Footsteps in Next Level of Soccer Career

Kenan Hot comes from a soccer family. His father Haris played for Seton Hall under legendary coach Manny Shellscheidt in the early 90s, and his cousin Sacir Hot was signed as a home grown player for NY Red Bulls and now is the head coach of FC Motown. Now, Kenan is making a name for himself, and is one of the most promising young players in the nation. Hot has been a regular in the US Youth National Team program, and captained the squad during the Concacaf Championships in August 2019.

Recently, Hot has been a standout for the Red Bulls academy program. and just a few years ago was winning the USYS Eastern Regional Championship. He was a member of EDP League team PDA Drogba when the side won the 12U USYS Eastern Regional Championship in 2015, and he also won several NJYS State Cup championships.

Of late, on August 5th, 2020 at just 16 years old, Hot made his professional debut for Red Bulls II along with another former EDP player Tapiwia Shumpa who played with Future SA.

"Winning 5 consecutive State Championships with PDA Drogba prepared me for playing on a big stage because at that age that was the highest level of youth soccer, and we had completely dominated it. It completely changed the way I believed in myself because from that point on I realized what I could potentially achieve in the future," Hot said.

In his earliest years, from age 6 through 11, Kenan trained with Michael Turtle and Soccer Specific Training, which helped him become the superior technical player he is today. Now looking forward, the class of 2022 star has verbally committed to Duke University and Kenan will look to follow in the footsteps of his father and cousin in the next steps of his career.
