EDP Florida Competitive League Playoff Recap



This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted its EDP Soccer Florida Competitive Leagues end of season playoffs at Trotters Park in Orlando Florida. Top 11U-14U teams from North, Central and South Florida gathered as each age group crowned their champion, while the 9U-10U teams enjoyed a festival that allowed them to face off against new competition.

A Look At The Weekend’s Playoff Results: 11U Boys

Miami Shores SC 2011 from South Florida and Nona SA 2011 Black out of Central Florida met in the final match of the group with both teams 3-0-0. Miami Shores SC held the edge on goal differential heading into the match, meaning just a draw would earn them a championship. Both teams battled back and forth in an evenly played match, and with the score tied 2-2, neither team could find the winner as time wound down and Miami Shore SC walked away with first place.


12U Boys

Indialantic YSA 2010 Force opened up the weekend with a 4-0 win over Barca Academy PRO Miami 2010 De Jong, which would end up being a crucial three points on their way to the championship. The team followed up with a 3-1 win over Weston FC in their second match, and then returned Sunday to record a win over Key Biscayne Elite 2010. After their fourth match, they ended tied on nine points with Barca Academy PRO Miami, and their head-to-head win the difference maker to finish in first place.


13U Boys

Barca Academy PRO Miami 2009 had a perfect weekend, winning all four matches and keeping a clean sheet in each one. On Sunday morning, they faced their toughest test against second place Nona SA 2000 Black, but their stellar back line and high-flying attack led them to a 2-0 win before closing out the weekend with a win over Winter Park FC.


14U Boys

South Florida showed why it is a hotbed of soccer talent in the group, with Juventus Academy Miami Pogba and PSG Academy FL Cavani finishing in the top two spots. Juventus beat out PSG by just two points to earn the top spot, the difference between the two sides was their matches vs USYS Southern Regional Champions Nona SA 2008 Black. Juventus Academy narrowly defeated Nona SA 1-0, while PSG drew 1-1 with Nona SA, allowing Juventus to be crowned champions.
