EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2022 Girls Best XI



EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI Girls from last weekend’s EDP Cup Spring Showcase event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected.
The Best XI Girls from the EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2022 are:

 
STA-MUSC 2003/04G NL EDP - SOPHIA CHAVEZ #28

Sophia was one of the key players in the team's attack, she was able to penetrate effectively inside the box while creating space for other attackers. Not only was she a solid goal scorer with two goals, but also created opportunities and had three assists for her teammates. She was a handful for the opposing defenders, and helped create most of the team goals all weekend.

JERSEY SHORE BOCA JR FC LIBERTY - AILEEN CAHILL #9

Cahill led the team with outstanding play in various attacking positions throughout the weekend. Aileen recorded seven of the team’s 10 goals, assisting on two others, and was a catalyst for the team’s success.

KEYSTONE FC PREMIER 05G - ABBY SHULL #28

Shull played outside back. She was very composed/involved in the team build up with very consistent performance all weekend. Her positioning and 1v1 defending was outstanding and helped the team only allow two goals in three games against quality attackers, helping the team to three wins.

HAMILTON ELITE FC PREMIER 2005G - GABRIELLA PIANTADOSI #20

Piantadosi, the team's center-back, was stout defensively all weekend long as the team recorded two shutouts. She covered sideline to sideline, and her composure on the ball allowed for sustained buildups into the attack.

EAST FISHKILL PATRIOTS - KARI HOROS #23

Kari was the Patriots’ most creative player from her holding-midfield position. She was not only one of the Patriots’ most technical players, she was the tip of the spear for them defensively. She showed great leadership skills and was a positive influence for the younger players around her.

FC COPA ACADEMY G06 BLACK - SIENNA PETRO #2

Sienna helped to lead FC Copa G06 to an undefeated weekend through her tenacious workrate both on and off the ball. As a center midfielder she scored two goals and had two assists, but was an equal force defensively, holding down the midfield and assisting to transition the attack. As one of the captains, her consistent effort and leadership provides inspiration to her teammates.

NEW JERSEY RUSH 06 GIRLS GREY NL EDP - ELLA MCLAREN #3

Ella was a dominant force in the defense at center-back helping the team to an unbeaten 3-0-0 record over the weekend. Defensively she worked tirelessly winning balls and leading the teams transition play. She read the game and was able to stop the other team’s attack consistently over the weekend.

WORLD CLASS FC SCP 2006G USYS NL - ABBY CONNORS #12

Connors played as a forward and midfielder and scored five goals with four assists. Abby was a force being able to beat players in 1v1 situations enabling her to create scoring chances for her and her teammates.


PDA WHITE ECNL 2007 - MADISON PIELOCH #12

Madison showed some complete performances in center midfield throughout the weekend. Early in the weekend she played as a #6 she broke up play effectively and dictated the tempo of games. Later in the weekend she got moved further forward playing as a #10 and scored a hat trick in 20 minutes against Cedar Stars Academy Wayne Dynamite 2007.


READING RAGE '07 PRESS - ELLIE LEFFLER #15

Leffler helped the team win three games in the top flight. With wins of 3-1, 3-0 and 2-1 over the weekend, Leffler played striker and had seven of the team's eight goals scored this weekend while also having the game-winner in the third game.


PDA ECNL WILDFIRE BLUE 2008 - PAIGE FOYE #4

Foye led by example with strong defensive displays playing with speed and vision in the back throughout the weekend.
