EDP Cup Fall Showcase Girls Best XI



EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI for each age group from last weekend’s EDP Cup Fall Showcase Girls event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected.

EDP Cup Fall Showcase Girls Best XI 19U

Morgan shook off the disappointment of a Friday afternoon high school semi-final defeat to lead a selection of her Rush teammates, most of whom were playing out of position to record back-to-back clean sheets at the showcase. Morgan played the entirety of both games at center back with ever-revolving partners and still managed to organize the defensive platform to restrict the opposition to limited opportunities.

NEW JERSEY RUSH 02 GREY NL - Nicole Johan-Wisinerski #5

Nikki returned to action after not being able to play since August and controlled the game from the central midfield, despite clearly lacking stamina, Nikki adapted her game, conserved her energy and played two full games in back-to-back days given how light on numbers the team was. She screened the defense well all weekend, assisting with two clean sheets and rarely gave the ball away with her short sharp connecting passes from the defensive midfield position.

PSA NATIONAL '03 - Caroline Caputo #13

Committed to NJIT, Caroline had a great tournament, controlling the midfield and being involved in all the transitions, providing excellent distribution and giving great assists that generated scoring. Caroline's consistency and excellent technical skills are a great value to the team.

PSA NATIONAL '03 - Samantha Moxie #16

Committed to East Carolina University, Samantha was the team's top scorer with 4 goals scored during the tournament. Her skills combined with her athleticism made her a constant threat throughout the tournament.

Olivia's work rate throughout the weekend was unmatched. She was fearless in tackles, aerial challenges, and relentless in closing spaces in the middle of the field. She had a tremendous pre-season and it is now showing. Great season ahead for her.

Christina had an impactful weekend playing the 10 role for the undefeated FC Copa Academy G02/03 Black team. She contributed 3 goals over the two matches and assisted on 3 others. Christina couldn't be missed taking on defenders and then breaking down the opponents backlines with a perfectly-weighted pass or combination.

Peyton, a Binghamton University commit, tallied two goals and an assist on the weekend for the undefeated FC Copa Academy G02/03 Black squad. Her speed and tenacity with the ball at her feet at striker constantly had defenders on their heels.

With only a handful of full time 02/03 NL EDP players this weekend and covered in huge bruises from high school soccer, Mojo played every minute of both games as a central midfielder and provided much needed balance to the team on the field. Her presence on and off the field encouraged the team to work hard and compete against top teams regardless of who was on the field with them, she's a true leader.

PSA WILDCATS ELITE U19 ORANGE - Allie O'Keefe # 15

Allie had an amazing weekend running the midfield for her PSA Wildcats team, she was working box to box for her squad in both games. She is a leader on the field for the team and she was a dominant force the entire weekend. Her ability to win balls and then be composed with possession really was a great asset to the team in both showcase games.

SUSA G03 RL ECNL - Jenna Tompkins #13

Jenna was fantastic in attack all weekend, and was highly effective in both games tallying a total of 3 goals.

STONY BROOK SC GINGA - Alexandra Kelly #14

Alexandra scored 3 huge goals in 2 games including a last minute winner and a late double in game two to help deliver 2 wins for the team. An incredible athlete with incredible speed who stretches defenses with her constant runs deep into the heart of the opposition.


EDP Cup Fall Showcase Girls Best XI 18U

SJEB RUSH 03G NL EDP - Rachel Robichaud #7 Rachel was the engine for the team. She defended strongly against great competition and on the offensive side she helped aid an attack that scored 7 goals on the weekend SJEB RUSH 03G NL EDP - Ciara Minkel #33 Ciara was the most consistent player on one of the top teams in the tournament, playing every minute leading the team to a win and a draw on the weekend. SJEB RUSH 03G NL EDP - Madilyn Mortelli #10 Madilyn was dynamic on both sides of the ball, being aggressive and commanding in possession. Her distribution helped the team maintain possession in difficult situations. NJ PREMIER FC 2003 GIRLS - Kara Magliaro #22 Kara scored 2 amazing goals on Saturday, one on a header from a cross and the other a free kick. She was dominant in the midfield with winning the ball and constantly feeding our forwards with great passes. NJ PREMIER FC 2003 GIRLS - Kayla Horvaht #18 Kayla was the backbone in the defense. She was feeding the midfielders with good passes and won a lot of battles in the back. CEDAR STARS BERGEN 03 ACADEMY - Brooke Rienecker #10 Brooked played center midfield and was dynamic going forward and creative in providing scoring opportunities for her teammates PDA SOUTH ECNL-RL 2004 - Bebel Trani #16 Trani was pivotal at center back, dominant in the air and produced several timely tackles. Trani also worked tirelessly in the center of midfield aiding ball retention on our first weekend back together from the high school break. Capped off a great weekend by scoring the winner direct from a corner kick vs World Class. FARMINGDALE / EAST MEADOW ECRL G03 - Jess Ford #21 Jess led the team's attack from the attacking central midfield position all weekend, scoring 3 goals in two games. Jess was responsible for multiple assists and created chances off of all set pieces she took. PSA WILDCATS ELITE '03 - Erin Fosgreen #10 Erin had two fantastic performances, leading her PSA Wildcats team to an undefeated weekend. With her pace and relentless desire to go off the dribble, she was a handful for defenders to deal with all weekend. Erin was involved with all 4 of the team's goals over the course of the weekend, scoring 1 goal and assisting on the others. Erin's hard work, attacking mindset, and finishing ability were instrumental to her team's success. STA-MUSC 2003G USYS - Laurel Valente #13 Lauren had a superb weekend by scoring 3 goals in 2 games and having an assist. Lauren was able to create scoring opportunities not only for herself but for her teammates BRENTWOOD SC NPL BLAZE 2002/2003 - Kelly Jette #5 Kelly had a great weekend at centre back, as the team kept one clean sheet and she added two goals.

SUSA G04 ECNL - Dani Davis #17

The Villanova University commit dictated possession from a midfield position with 3 assists and 2 goals.

SUSA G04 ECNL - Gianna Paul #14

One of the fastest players in the nation, she scored 6 goals on the weekend.

SUSA G04 ECNL - Madison Micheletti #26

The Old Dominion University commit scored 5 goals on the weekend.

LONG ISLAND SC G2004 ACADEMY - Rena Kalargiros #11

Rena played in the midfield for both wins LISC secured this weekend. Her work rate and technical skill added to the team's success both on offense and defense. She was a constant scoring threat, this included her game winning goal from distance in Saturday's match.

Ava was one half of the keeper pair that combined for two shutouts this weekend. Making the necessary saves and helping organize the team, their efforts resulted in LISC G04 being the only team to not conceded a goal from the Diamond 04 bracket.

Thalia played attacking midfield and orchestrated the attack for the team. She scored 3 goals and added 2 assists during the weekend.

Anna is a defender who is essential to the possession based style of the team. Her tremendous ability to distribute out of the back has helped the team maintain possession in difficult situations. Her ability to join the attack and constantly get service into the box, as well as her solid one v one defending helped the team to a 2 win weekend.

STA-MUSC 2004G NL EDP - Mackenzie Creighton #13

Mackenzie was an attacking threat all weekend. She scored a hat trick in the first game, and almost had back-to-back hat tricks but had two goals disallowed in the second game.

RUSA FC G04 GOLD - Lauren SanFelice #14

Lauren had excellent performances in both matches, and was key in the both the teams 3-3 draw and 1-0 win.

Izzy was vital to our success this weekend with 3 goals in a 3-3 draw with RUSA, as well as another goal in our 4-2 victory over Deptford. Izzy distributes well from the midfield position and her finishing touch was a difference maker for us.

STA-MUSC 2005G NL EDP - Emily Weinstein #29

Emily played as a CB and CDM for both games at the showcase, Emily did a great job in distributing the ball and starting the build up from the back. In the Sunday game she was able to break down some promising attacks from the opponent to secure the clean sheet for the team.

STA-MUSC 2005G NL EDP - Giovanna Ciolino #31

With only 1 goal conceded in 160 minutes of soccer, Giovanna had a great weekend in goal for STA 2005G NL EDP team. With some great saves and distribution in the Sunday game Giovanna was able to secure the clean sheet against the CSA Bergen Academy team.

STA-MUSC 2005G NL EDP - Luciana Rodriques #23

Luciana had 1 goal and 1 assist in a 3-0 over CSA Bergen showing her qualities in orchestrating the attack. She was involved in a lot of the attacking play and scored the 2nd goal for the team while assisting the 3rd.

SJEB RUSH 05G GA - Caterina Schiavo #8

Caterina made an impact defensively in both games not conceding a goal all weekend. She made excellent decisions when to step in and win loose balls and also dominated her 1v1 defensive duals. She communicated well and she showed very good leadership in the backline.

SJEB RUSH 05G GA - Rebekah Shepkosky #23

Rebekah made an impact in both games by her steady playing on both ends of the ball. She defended well and broke up a lot of plays especially in transition but was the start of a lot of offensive buildup plays. Her decision making and distribution was very consistent in both matches.

LONG ISLAND SC G2005 ACADEMY - Ariel Reyes #23 and Sofia Devito #1

Ariel and Sofia split goalkeeping duties for LISC GA 05. Both contributed fantastic minutes through their shot stopping, communication and encouragement for their team. Only conceding one goal all weekend, they helped the team secure two ties, including one shutout.

EMSC CREW 06 ECNL - Kayleigh McCormick #27

Kayleigh played center back and outside back and helped the side to two wins over the weekend, as the backline conceded just once during the event.

Ava was solid as a rock in defense this weekend. She won her individual battles and brought a level of composure to the team. Her tenacity along with precision passing allowed others around her to play their natural game.

Elena is a defensive midfielder with an incredible work-rate and ability to win and distribute the ball. Tenacious in the tackle and was a huge factor in driving the Stony Brook team to 2 wins out of 2 over the weekend.

STA-MUSC 2005G USYS - Taylor Gollin #7

Taylor is known as a set piece specialist who plays as a central midfielder. She scored a screamer of a free kick in STA's game on Saturday which ended in a 2-2 tie after scoring the first goal from a penalty, it was one that had heads turning and left the opponents confused as the ball hit the top corner frame and flew back out.

FC COPA ACADEMY G05 BLACK - Isabell Kronow #9

Izzy, a Somerville HS Varsity Player, was extremely valuable to the success of the team over the weekend. She led the team with 3 goals and 2 assists in an inspiring performance on day 1. Her confidence, work ethic, and sharpness on the ball made all her teammates around her better.

SUSA G06 ECNL - Ciara Brown #12

Ciara is a pacey striker with unbelievable speed, causing havoc against any defensive unit. She was fantastic with her off the ball movement. She gives the team a different dimension when she starts to run at defenders. She led the team this weekend in goals and assists.

SUSA G06 ECNL - Maggie Ledwith #4

Maggie had a relentless work rate as an attacking midfielder, supporting the strikers in the attack and defending when the team lost possession making her an integral part of the way the team plays. She was very versatile adapting quickly to positional changes and the opponent's style of play on the fly. She gave the team multiple options and solutions on the field with her movement. She topped her performance this weekend with a cracking goal from 35 yards out against PSA 06. Best goal from the team this weekend.

SUSA G06 ECNL - Kaitlin Conway # 20

Kaitlin was the midfield metronome of the team. She kept things ticking for the team. Great passing ability and vision on the ball. Exceptional work rate and selfless who was always looking to put her teammates in the best position possible to help the team or score. She put in two player of the game performances this weekend. She topped it off with a wonderful goal against Real Jersey in the second game to end the weekend for the team with a win and a tie.

REAL JERSEY FC 2006G - Morgan Kotch #16

Morgan is one of the top target forwards in the nation, with the ability on display all weekend as she scored two goals.

REAL JERSEY FC 2006G - Allie Serlenga #5

Alle is an attacking midfielder who was great in support of the attack, and contributed with two goals.

REAL JERSEY FC 2006G - Regan O'Shaughnessy #6

Regan was steady at Center Back throughout the weekend, and was in control of the back line that only allowed one goal through the run of play.

FC COPA ACADEMY G06 BLACK - Jessica Moukazis #6

Jess scored 3 goals from midfield for FC Copa this weekend as they team went 2-0 with 7 goals for and only 2 against. Jess also provided quality box-to-box play helping thwart the oppositions attack before joining the play and finishing on the offensive side.

STA-MUSC 2006G NL EDP - Sloane Ricciuti #12

Sloane showed her qualities in the first game of the showcase with a hat trick in a 5-1 win vs PDA South. She set up most of the attacking play through midfield and was able to score 3 herself.

NJ PREMIER FC 2006G - Paige Thomas #13

Paige scored the winning goal on Sunday with a powerful shot from outside the box. She was a real threat to all her opponents this weekend and created lots of scoring opportunities for her teammates and herself.

Morgan inspired her team from the center back position to two clear sheets with a complete display of leadership on and off the field. Morgan's desire and willingness to have two clear sheet's went through the rest of the defense as Morgan pushed her teammates forward as she was the catalyst that they could build from always knowing she was behind them.

STA MT OLIVE SC 2006G - Julia Flynn #4

Julia was a rock at center back playing an amazing tournament. In the 2 games, the team had no goals allowed. In the last game she showed her absolute leadership by example. Her distribution was fantastic and her decision making perfect.
