This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the first part of its EDP Cup Fall Showcase, annually ranked one of the top showcases in the nation by GotSoccer. The weekend featured 15U-19U Girls with games played at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ and Green Branch Park in Pittsgrove, NJ. Over 200 teams participated during the weekend, representing eight different states and 115 different clubs. College Coaches from Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 schools were in attendance as the showcase continues to be one of the top recruiting events in the region. EDP Soccer’s partnership with ScoutingZone and Next Level Video enhanced the recruiting experience for players at the event through Video and Digital Player Profiles.

Highlights From This Past Weekend:
Lehigh Valley United LVU 2004G Black won the Diamond bracket winning all three of their matches by just one goal. They opened up with a 1-0 win over NJYS State Cup Champion Millville Pride, followed by another 1-0 win over Jersey South FC Galaxy, and closed out the weekend with a win over powerhouse SDA Utica 04 Blasters.
Other top finishers in brackets included PA Rush 2004 Rush, East Meadow Farmingdale ECRL, Capital United, NY Rush Select, Match Fit Academy 2004G Shore, Liverpool FCNJ South, Penn United Force FC, Jersey Knights SC, PSA North, Deptford Premier and Gotham Girls FC.
Real Jersey FC2006G, the USYS Eastern Regional Champions added another championship to its resume going 3-0-0 over the weekend. They started the weekend with a 2-1 win over Western Lehigh United, and then defeated Stony Brook-LGN SC Arsenal G2005 3-0. On Sunday, they jumped out to an early lead against ENY State Cup Champion Coliseum SC 2005G Inferno NL, but Coliseum fought back to make it 3-3 before Real Jersey FC scored the winner in the final minute.
Other top finishers in brackets included NJ Stallions 05 North, East Meadow Farmingdale ECRL, NY Rush Select, Cherry Hill FC, Jersey Shore Boca Jr, Match Fit Academy FC 2005G Mercer, and RUSA G05.
RUSA FC G06 picked up right where they left off last Spring, winning all three of their matches on the way to a championship. They defeated one of NYW’s top teams – Syracuse Development Academy 2-1 in the first game, then recorded a big 4-0 win over NY Rush Select, and closed out the weekend with a tight 1-0 victory over PA Tush 2006 Rush.

Syracuse Development Academy 2007 Orange started the event very strong, opening up with a 4-1 win over NJ Surf South Shore 07G, and then winning a very close contest with NJ Premier FC 2007 Girls 1-0. On Sunday, they took on the #1 ranked team in the Nation, Cedar Stars Wayne Dynamite, and in a back-and- forth match, came away with a 3-2 victory to finish a perfect 3-0-0.
