EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2019 Boys: Tournament Wrap-Up

“The EDP Boys Showcase was great for our players! Almost 70 college coaches watched our games over the weekend,” is how Dan Harman, Chairman of Soccer Development for the Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Soccer Club, summarized the EDP Cup Fall Showcase Boys 2019 event. The Showcase, a part of the EDP Pathway to College™ and a flagship in EDP tournaments, concluded after two weekends. The event featured elite level, student-athletes from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico showcasing their skills against other top-level college prospects, in front of college college coaches from highly-regarded conferences such as the America East, Atlantic 10, Big Ten, Big East, CAA, Ivy League, MAAC, Patriot League, NESCAC, NJAC, plus others. The college coaches represented NCAA Division I, II, and III as well as JUCO programs. See the complete list of 302 College Coaches who attended EDP Cup Fall Showcase Boys 2019 or who registered to receive information about participating players. Nearly 350 teams attended the event, which featured top tier teams from the US Soccer Boys Development Academy, US Youth Soccer National League, US Youth Soccer Conferences, EDP and ECNL, as well as other youth platforms. The teams came from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida and Ohio, Quebec and Ontario, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

The Platinum 2001 saw Manhattan SC Titans ECNL lead the way with 2 wins while Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 01 Black verses STA-MUSC 2001 ECNL was one of the highlighted games on Saturday as over 40 college coaches lined the sidelines to find potential additions to their school’s team.


In the 19U Diamond bracket, Westchester Flames Premier 01 and South Central PA SCPASA 02 Lions led the way in their groups going unbeaten during the weekend. The Platinum 2002 Brausa United FC 02 Blue finished with a win in all of their games as they prepare for the US Youth Soccer National League to kick off in a couple of weeks.

The 17U Platinum Bracket Group A leaders were Philadelphia Ukranian Nationals 03 Black and Group B leaders were St. Hubert SC 2003B (CND: QC), with both teams earning 6 points. At 16U, the Diamond Bracket produced Westchester Flames Elite 04 to the top of Group A, while in Group B, Calverton SC Cerritos Academy finished as group leaders. Syracuse Development Academy SDA Nike Orange 2004 finished with 6 points in the 16U Gold Bracket. In the 15U Diamond Bracket Group A, the Manhattan SC Freedom, and Group B, Nitro SC 05 Elite Vole, both went undefeated to lead their groups. While in the Platinum Bracket of 15U, both STA-MUSC 2005B ECNL and Penn Fusion SA ECNL 2005 finished with 6 points. Throughout the EDP Cup Fall Showcase Boys event, a total of 1,090 goals were scored with a goal differential of 1.14 goals per game. Across both weekends of the EDP Cup Fall Showcase, a total of nearly 600 teams participated and 2,078 goals were scored over a course of over 700 games played.
