East Brunswick, NJ (November 7, 2018) - EDP Soccer is bringing a new competitive platform to New England in the form of the EDP New England States League, an inclusive soccer platform that allows teams to directly qualify for State Cup competition.
The EDP New England States League is available to boys’ and girls’ teams in the U11 through U19 age groups, in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
EDP New England States League provides teams with a comprehensive league schedule, with the consistent and meaningful competition that teams seek. This is an inclusive platform that allows teams to advance to more competitive divisions based on merit.
“Teams that play in these EDP New England States League divisions will now be part of a competitive, multi-divisional league structure that allows participating teams to have a good game every week with sensible travel. This model gives teams control of their own destiny and an opportunity to reach their highest potential,” said EDP CEO Alan Shilling.
"The opportunity for our premier clubs to participate in a league with quality teams throughout New England, giving them automatic qualification into our state cup (US Youth National Championship Series) simplifies the process in this confusing marketplace,” said Josh Krusewski, Executive Director of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association.
“We are very excited to be partnering with EDP,” said Thomas Sowinski, President of the New Hampshire Soccer Association. “Our clubs and teams have been asking for a defined pathway to develop players and this partnership provides that and more!”
“We’re very excited and looking to forward to working with EDP who has some great ideas and experience. Our small states teams have been seeking an interstate league opportunity for some time. The clubs are waiting with great anticipation,” said the Soccer Rhode Island President, Steve Votolato.
