EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2022 Boys Best XI

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI Boys from last weekend’s EDP Cup Spring Showcase event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected.


The Best XI Boys from the EDP Cup Spring Showcase 2022 are:

STA-MUSC 2003B NL EDP - gabe toledo #29

Toledo is a winger who is quick, strong, and very tricky on the ball and gave trouble to opposing back lines in each game, helping lead his team to the championship.


pda hibernian vidic 2004 - carter bailey #2

Bailey was one of the key players in the team's attack and success through the weekend, instrumental in the team's ability to maintain possession in and through the final third. He scored two goals and was directly involved in the creation of three others. Due to Bailey's versatility, he saw the field in five different positions and with exception of a brief moment in each game he was on the field for just about the entirety of each.


cohansey premier 2004 navy - ryan carter #4

Carter bossed the midfield this past weekend from the holding midfield position. He created four goals for the team as well as scoring one himself. Carter prevented multiple opportunities from the opponents which led to three shutouts on the weekend.


amityville sc cosmos - roberth perez #7

Roberth, the team captain, led the team to an undefeated weekend against some top teams in the top bracket. Playing in the middle as an attacking midfielder, he was consistently one of the most creative and skillful players in each game and in the tournament. He was a handful for the opposing defenders, and was involved in six out of the seven goals this weekend.


sjeb fc 05B academy - landon sentak #10

Sentak, the team captain and emotional leader, helped lead the squad with a strong presence in the midfield.  In addition to scoring two goals, the box-to-box midfielder created many dangerous offensive opportunities for his teammates with strategic balls threaded through the opposing defense. Sentak also helped secure the middle of the field by defending strongly, shutting down the passing lanes and winning 50/50 challenges.


STA mt. olive sc 2005 nl boys - george taylor #10

Taylor's attacking ability was on display as he scored three out of the team's six goals, and was involved in the creation of the others, leading the team to a 3-0-0 record.


nj surf south marlton 05B - logan gebhart #1

Logan played a huge role in goal contributing to NJ Marlton Surf’s 3-0-0 record this weekend. After shutting down several opponent scoring chances, Logan helped keep a clean sheet in all three matches, conceding zero goals in 200 minutes of showcase play. Logan came up especially big when facing a few shots from within the 6-yard box, going up strong on corner kicks, and organizing defensive set pieces. Commander from the back, Logan helped lead his defensive front to top of the table.


csa north newark u16 boys nl - kwaku agyabeng #15

Kwaku was the driving force for the team throughout the weekend in central-midfield. He is a box-to-box midfielder who can disrupt opposition play while also contributing goals and assists with speed, skill and vision. Kwaku led the team with eight goals in three games over the weekend.


nj premier b2006 - kevin lagos #9

Kevin is a holding center midfielder who anchored a strong defensive team which only gave up one goal all tournament and was the connection for the attack which scored 16 goals this tournament. His calm demeanor on the ball allowed the team to move around him and create plenty of opportunities.


ironbound sc 2007-raiders - guilherme da silva #13

Guilherme Da Silva helped lead the squad to an undefeated weekend with a strong presence in the midfield. Guilherme created many dangerous offensive opportunities and was consistently one of the most creative players in the tournament, including scoring one of the top goals of the weekend.


csa north newark u15 boys nl - ethan geronimo #10

A dynamic winger with a fantastic left foot, Ethan led the team with goals and assists over the weekend. Ethan’s 1v1 dribbling skill and speed makes him a nightmare for opposition defenders. Equally comfortable on the left or right, Ethan was relentless in his attacking energy.
