EDP Cup Fall Showcase 2021 Tournament Preview

The next two weekends, EDP Soccer will host the EDP Cup Fall Showcase, which is annually one of the top showcases in the region. The event will feature over 450 15U-19U boys and girls teams from 11 state associations and three regions. The tournament, held at Tuckahoe Turf Farms and Green Branch Park, will feature teams from across the top league platforms in the country creating best vs best matchups in the event's top divisions. The boys weekend will host MLS Next Cross Conference friendlies with TSF MLS Next vs New York SC MLS Next and Real Jersey FC MLS Next vs Met Oval MLS Next.


One of the top recruiting events in the region, over 200 college coaches are pre-registered to attend. EDP Soccer has partnered with ScoutingZone and Next Level Video for the event, with select games being filmed and made available to college coaches to enhance the recruiting experience for players at the event.


A look at some of the event’s brackets:

The 19U Boys bracket includes some of the top teams around the country. The 2004 boys bracket includes several teams led by star strikers including Penn Alliance Select led by Partyk Rojek, BRAUSA United led by Ryan Calheira, and Lower Merion SC led by Sam Nyenka. Those three sides will face off against three of the most well-rounded teams in the nation, including STA ECNL, USYS Eastern Regional Quarterfinalist FC Somers and USYS Midwest Regional Semi-Finalist Team Challenger FC North. The top 2003 bracket will see ECNL powerhouse Manhattan SC Thunder, East Meadow ECNL and FC Florida take on three of NJ’s top sides. Each NJ side will look to their key players to make an impact, FC Copa Academy with Evan Vasquez, SJEB with Aidan Davis, and RUSA with Cole Hayman.


The 19U Girls will feature 11th ranked SDA Utica Blasters who were semi-finalist at the USYS Eastern Regionals last summer. SDA Utica is led by the high-scoring front line of Olivia Lindsay, Megan Baker, Mary Muller and Maddie Lu. The Diamond bracket will also have 15th ranked and NJYS State Cup Champion Millville Pride. Rounding out the group is National League P.R.O. participant Jersey South Galaxy, Alexandria SA, PA Dominion and EPYSA State Cup Finalist Lehigh Valley United 2004G Black.


The 17U Boys bracket is highlighted by the top National League and ECNL teams in the region. Barça Academy PRO, and CSA Hudson Valley from the North Atlantic Conference, Ironbound SC from the Mid Atlantic Conference, and BRAUSA from the South Atlantic Conference are joined by STA ECNL and Manhattan SC ECNL. 


The 17U Girls bracket features Coliseum SC 2005G Inferno NL, ranked 6th in the nation, ENY State Cup Champions and Eastern Regional Quarterfinalist, and Real Jersey FC 2006G who are the back-to-back USYS Eastern Regional Champions. Challenging the two perennial powers will be Stony Brook-LGN SC Arsenal, NJ Surf South Shore, Medford Strikers, and Western Lehigh.


The 16U Boys age group is filled with top talent from the tri-state area including Manhattan SC ECNL, STA ECNL, PSA Monmouth National, Valencia CF Academy NY, New York Premier FC, and Dix Hills SC Ultimatum.


The 16U Girls has NYW State Cup Champion SDA 2006G traveling to NJ where they will be competing with RUSA FC F06 Gold, currently ranked #6 in the nation. NJ Rush 06 Grey NL joins the two sides in the Diamond bracket, coming off back-to-back championships in the last two EDP Showcases. The bracket also includes Football Academy NJ 2006G Black, NY Rush Select 06 and PA Rush 2006.


The 15U Boys will see the #1 ranked team in the Midwest Region – Chicago United SC –  face off against USYS Eastern Regional Quarterfinalist AC Connecticut, 30th ranked Ironbound SC and STA-ECNL. Rounding out the group is 37th ranked Dix Hill SC Harbour View and USYS Eastern Regional Finalist NY Hota Bavarians SC 2007.


The 15U Girls feature the #1 ranked team in the Nation – Cedar Stars Wayne Dynamite, and also includes Keystone Athletic, NJ Surf South Shore and NJ Premier FC, all ranked in the top 30 in the nation.The Diamond bracket also includes Caps Chelsea and NYW State Cup Finalist SDA 2007 Orange.
