EDP Fall Classic 2021 Recap

This past weekend, EDP Soccer hosted the EDP Fall Classic for 8U-19U boys and girls teams. As 8U-14U teams’ seasons come to an end, and 15U-19U teams begin to prepare for upcoming showcases, the event provided a place for all teams to participate. This year's Fall Classic featured 370 teams from 135 clubs and twelve state associations. The event had 53 brackets, and over 400 games were decided by two goals or less.

A Look At The Weekend’s Results

8U Boys
CEDAR STARS BERGEN 2014B PRE-ACADEMY and TSF ACADEMY 2014B BLUE both finished group play with two wins and a draw as the two sides played to a 3-3 tie in the opening match. The final was a rematch of the two teams, with Cedar Starts winning 4-2.

9U Boys
REAL JERSEY FC 2013 dominated in the Charlotte FC flight, going 3-0-0 in the group stages with close wins over NEFC, NY Red Bulls and Cedar Stars Bergen and then defeating PA PENNSYLVANIA RUSH 2013 RUSH in the final. FC EUROPA 2013B ELITE was champions of the St. Louis City bracket, and PRINCETON FC BAYERN 2013B won the Miami Fusion bracket.

9U Girls
SUSA G13 CAROLINA finished with a 3-0-0 record in group play, and a 5-1 win over MATCH FIT ACADEMY FC 2013G MERCER BLUE in the final.

10U Boys
AS JUNIOR ELITE 2012B continued their amazing form this Fall with a championship performance in the SJ Earthquakes bracket. After three wins in the group stage, they defeated CEDAR STARS BERGEN 2012B PRE-ACADEMY 4-2 in the final. BERKELEY SA JERSEY SHORE UNITED SURF won the Seattle Sounders bracket, and WORLD CLASS FC '12 ORANGE won the Vancouver Whitecaps bracket.

10U Girls
FREEHOLD SL ELITE went 3-0-0 in a bracket with PHILADELPHIA UKRAINIAN NATIONALS 12G BLACK, NEW YORK SC G2012 BLUE, and SUSA G12 BLUE, preparing them for a final vs EGSA KINGSWAY PREMIER 12 where they would once again win to cap off a championship weekend. WESTFIELD SA ABERDEEN finished first place in the West Ham United bracket. 

11U Boys
It was a battle of New York Red Bulls in the final, with NEW YORK RED BULLS PRE-ACADEMY SOUTH 2011 facing off with NEW YORK RED BULLS PRE-ACADEMY NORTH 2011. With both teams unbeaten, it was NEW YORK RED BULLS PRE-ACADEMY SOUTH 2011 who would be crowned champions. CAPS AJAX and NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY 11 MANU BLUE would also win their brackets.

11U Girls
SJEB FC 11G RED finished 4-0-0, putting them three points better than CNY PREMIER SC 2011G to finish in first place in the Leicester City bracket. PDA SOUTH MAGIC 2011 won the Reading bracket after advancing to the final on a tie breaker over SUSA G12, and WESTFIELD SA HAVOC won the Manchester City bracket.

12U Boys
WEST-MONT UNITED SA UNITED 2010 beat out STA-MUSC 2010B ECNL by one point in group A to reach the final to take on undefeated VALENCIA SA 10 BLACK. In the final, West-Mont would score twice and was able to contain the Valencia SA high power attack to come away with a 2-0 victory. GINGA FC 2010B GOLD, and MOUNT LAUREL UNITED MLU PREMIER were also champions on the weekend.

12U Girls
SUSA G10 ECNL went through group stage 3-0-0, keeping three clean sheets and scoring multiple goals in each match. They faced FC BUCKS PRE-ECNL 2010 in the  final, who allowed just one goal in group play, and it was FC Bucks who would win the final by the scoreline of 2-0.

13U Boys
LEHIGH VALLEY UNITED LVU 2009B BLACK and STA MT OLIVE SC 2009B NL used their offensive firepower all weekend long to light up the scoreboard and finish group play to reach the final, where the two teams went back and forth all match long that would eventually see STA come out as champions. RHODE ISLAND SURF B2009 ELITE made the most of their trip to NJ in the Austin FC bracket, when a 1-1 draw with Mount Laurel in the final group stage game saw them advance to the final on goal differential where they defeated UNION COUNTY FC LEVANTE 3-0. CEDAR STARS NORTH 2009B GREEN and SFL 2009 BLACK also won their brackets.

13U Girls
SPIRIT OF LIVERPOOL USA 2009G IMPACT and SUSA G09 ECNL RL reached the final both going 3-0-0, with SUSA coming out victorious. SUSA CAROLINA also won their bracket along with DUSC G2009 BLUE.

14U Boys
HOTSPURS BLUE, out of Pittsburgh, PA used their technical and athletic ability to win four very close matches on their way to a championship weekend. After two 3-2 wins on Saturday, they finished group play with a 2-1 win and then went on to win the final 3-1. Other champions in the age group were LIVERPOOL FCNJ 2008B SOUTH, MANALAPAN SC VIPERS 08B and 1776 NU76 BLUE COATS.

14U Girls
WALL ELITE CHELSEA, coming off their NJ State Cup Championship, defeated SUSA  G08 ECNL RL in the last group stage game to make the final, but were unable to top PDA SOUTH 2008 GIRLS in the final, as PDA South finished champions after a very evenly played match. DUSC G2008 BLUE and STATELINE SC 2008G BEARS were the other bracket winners in the age group.

15U Boys
BW GOTTSCHEE 2008 BLUE allowed just one goal all weekend long, and kept their  third clean sheet of the weekend in the 2-0 victory over MEDFORD STRIKERS SC SURGE 2007 in the final. FC DUTCHMEN RIVERHOUNDS and CAPS 07 MONACO also kept clean sheets in the final on their way to first place finishes.

15U Girls
After a 1-1 draw vs LOWER MERION SC FURIA, NEW JERSEY SURF SOUTH SHORE 07G reached the final on goal differential, where they would come up against  WEST DEPTFORD SC FURY 2007. In a battle of South Jersey sides, New Jersey Surf came away with a big 4-0 win. FC BUCKS ECRL 2007 and NORTHERN BURLINGTON SA GALAXY 2007 also claimed first place finishes.

16U Boys
Three teams finished group play with seven points, and it was IRONBOUND SC 06 RED ELITE vs WARRINGTON SC FC FORCE who would see each other in the final, and Ironbound who was able to find a way to win in the very closely contested match-up. BEACON SC UNITED and DANUBIA SC HOTSPUR were also champions.

16U Girls
FC BUCKS ECRL 2006 led 1-0 in the  final HOLMDEL FC STAMPEDE with  5 minutes remaining when Holmdel tied the score at 1-1 to send the game into Penalty Kicks. Holmdel completed their comeback shootout, winning to be crowned champions.

17U Boys
FC DELCO ECNL REGIONAL '05 went 4-0-0 to finish in first place, recording wins of 3-1, 2-0, 4-3 and 2-0.

17U Girls
MEDFORD STRIKERS SC ACADEMY 2005G and CHERRY HILL SC FLASH 2005 played to a 0-0 draw in the group stage before a rematch in the final where Medford Strikers attack would finish its chances to win the match 3-0.

18U Boys
RANCOCAS VALLEY SC AVENGERS 04 and KEYSTONE ATHLETIC KA 2004B WHITE both reached the final after keeping three shutouts, and with both team’s defenses hard to break down in the final, it was anyone's match, and Keystone Athletic were the ones who would claim the championship. 

19U Boys
FC DELCO ECNL REGIONAL '04 struck first in the high-scoring final, but BUCKINGHAM UNITED PREMIER 2004 would fight back in the match up. After some halftime adjustments, Buckingham was able to get forward Dylan Rose in behind the  FC Delco backline on several occasions, creating havoc for the defenders and leading to several goals. The final score of the match was 5-3 in favor of Buckingham.

19U Girls
BORDENTOWN FC JAGUARS EDP were the top team in the division all weekend long, winning each of its four matches, and allowing just one goal on the way to thier first place finish.
