EDP Canada Qualifier 2021 Recap

EDP Soccer hosted its EDP Canada Qualifier on September 3-5 at Milton Community Sports Park in partnership with host club Milton Youth Soccer Club. This year's event included boys teams from 13U-18U, and for the first time included girls teams from 13U-16U. Top clubs from around the area participated including Ajax SC, Alliance FC, Armour Heights SC, Barrie SC, Blue Devils FC, Brampton SC, Caledon SC, Croatia Norval SC, DeRo TFC Academy, Dutch Connection FC, East York SC, Elite Soccer Academy, Glen Shields FC, Juventus Academy Toronto, Milton Youth SC Magic, New Star Academy, North York Academy, Ottawa TFC, ProStars FC, Quinte West SC, Rexdale SC, Sault Youth SC, Toronto United FC, Vaughan SC, Wexford SC and Woodbridge Strikers.

A Look At The Weekend’s Results

18U Boys
At the 18U Boys age group, host Milton Youth SC Magic 2004B Blue and Woodbridge Strikers OC, who have both performed very well in recent years at all EDP events, finished 3-0-0.  Milton finished the  weekend with 12 goals for and 0 goals against to claim first place, while Woodbridge had 8 goals for and 2 goals against.

17U Boys
At the 17U Boys age group, ProStars FC Academy went 3-0-0 to win the division, keeping a clean sheet  in all 3 matches, and scoring 11 goals with wins of 5-0, 4-0 and 2-0.  DeRo TFC Academy, coached by MLS and Canadian legend Dwayne DeRosario, also finished 3-0-0, winning their matches 1-0, 6-2 and 4-1.

16U Girls
At the 16U Girls age group, Caledon SC Cyclones used a high power attack to win their 3 matches and finished in first place. They opened up the weekend with a 4-1 win, followed up by a 3-2 victory, and finished the weekend with their most complete performance with a 4-0 win.

15U Boys
At the 15U Boys age group, Dutch Connection FC won the group with 2 wins and 1 loss. With a 1-0 win on the opening day and a big win on day 2, they won the group on the last day when North York Academy drew with Juventus Academy Toronto 1-1.

14U Boys
At the 14U Boys age group, Armour Heights Heavens Eleven Warriors went through group play with a 3-0-0, and would face off with Dutch Connections in the final, a rematch of the opening match won 3-2 by Armour Heights. In the final, the scoreline was flipped, with Dutch Connection coming away with a 3-2 victory to claim the championship.

14U Girls
At the 14U Girls age group, host Milton Youth SC Magic 2007G Blue kept a shutout in all 4 matches, leading them to a 4-0-0 record and a first place finish.

13U Boys
At the 13U Boys age group, Juventus Academy Toronto won the final over Blue Devils FC after going through the group stage with a perfect 3-0-0 record. After allowing goals on the opening day, Juventus kept a clean sheet in both of their Sunday matches.

13U Girls
At the 13U Girls age group, Juventus Academy Toronto and Milton Youth SC Magic finished tied at 7 points in the group stage, with the teams drawing 0-0 in their group stage match. In the final, the rematch saw the Juventus Academy attack click on all cylinders, scoring 5 goals and winning the championship by the scoreline of 5-0.
