EDP Soccer Florida Competitive Leagues Playoffs Spring 2021 Best XI

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s EDP Florida Playoff event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament. Congratulations to all players who were selected.


The Best XI from the EDP Florida Playoff are:

PSG Academy FL U11 Blue - Matteo Miller #9

Matteo took over the competition from the very first game where he scored five goals. He followed that up with two more goals in the second game, a hat trick in the third game and one goal in the final, where he also assisted on the game winner. The team captain, he contributed in 12 of the team's 13 goals.


Barca Academy Pro Miami 2010 B De Jong - Alejo Dominguez #17

Alejo is a midfielder who controls the pace and flow of each match. In his role, he united the defense and attack, making the whole team play together and bringing balance to the game. His vision of the game, game management and ability on the ball helped lead the team into the final.


Elite 2009 Black - Martin Pinzon-Ospina #30

Martin dominated as a left midfielder and was the engine for the team during the tournament. He scored a total of nine goals and led the tournament for most goals scored in his age group. His energy level throughout the weekend was unmatched and a catalyst for the team's success. He played both sides of the ball, marking the opposing team's best players and creating offensive opportunities by distributing the ball to the attack. 


Elite 2009 Black - Brady Gregory #4

Brady is a central defender who was essential to the defense-first mentality of the team. Even as a defensive player, he scored a hat trick in the second game. He also contributed to scoring goals by building from the back and creating chances for other players. He was a leader for the team all weekend, putting the team first and having a winning attitude.


Barca Academy Pro Miami 2009 B Ter Stegen - Jose Baez #30

Jose is an incredible goalkeeper that was integral to the success of the team. He made numerous great saves throughout the weekend giving extra confidence to the team in the recovery moment, and also building up the actions from the back. He was a leader for the team all weekend.


PSG Academy FL U13 Blue - Hugo Lara #13

Hugo was the most important player in the back line. He was strong in defense and helped the team to concede only two goals in the event.


PSG Academy FL U13 Blue - Sebastian Bussert #2

Sebas is a versatile player that was able to play different positions throughout the tournament. A reliable player that can help the team anywhere in the field, he played with efficiency and intensity during the event.


Barca Academy Pro Miami 2008 - Nicolas Munoz #50

Nico is a lefty center-back who helps the team both on possession and out of it. His physical abilities make him almost unsurpassable. On possession, his dribbling and passing skills make the team's buildup easier and simpler. Nico played all minutes in the event and helped the team to get two clean sheets out of four games.


Doral Elite 2007 - Nino Venezia #11

Nino is a skillful, fast and smart player, who scored twice and added four assists during the event.


Doral Elite 2007 - Armando Osorio #2

Armando is extremely calm on the field, and also has great passing ability and vision. He starred for the team as they went on to win the event.


Doral Elite 2008 - Sergio Perrello #11

Sergio is a player who generates constant danger for the opposing defense since he is very good at reading the game and always making correct decisions. His ability to execute the decisions helped him to score five goals and also have two assists.
