By Evan Unger, 05/05/21, 3:00PM EDT

This Spring, the EDP Futures program continued at the Maryland SoccerPlex, one of the top venues in the Northeast. All games are held on the Maryland SoccerPlex world-class grass fields and each age group has an age-appropriate field size and configuration.

Matt Libber, Maryland SoccerPlex Executive Director commented, “The Maryland SoccerPlex is excited to continue our relationship with EDP Soccer through the EDP Futures programs.  EDP Futures fits into our core mission to provide developmental programs for youth soccer players.  EDP Futures allows players to advance their skills in a low pressure environment while playing on some of the best fields in the region. We look forward to growing this program in the future.”

Clubs from Maryland, DC and Virginia gather each Saturday of the Spring season for organized league play at the SoccerPlex. Fourteen of the area's best clubs are participating, including Achilles FC, Barca Northern Virginia, Bethesda SC, DC Way, Go Premier Soccer, Jouons FC, Juventus Academy DC Metro, Laurel Lions, Potomac SA, ROSA, Takoma Park SC, The St James FC Virginia, Total Futbol and Xeneizes.

These games follow the EDP Zone 1 initiatives for 7v7, with no public scores or standings being kept. Simon Collins, EDP Soccer Technical Director commented, “We are very happy to continue our relationship with the Maryland SoccerPlex and to be working with so many of the area’s top Zone 1 programs. As these clubs progress toward the USYS National League, The Girls Academy League, MLS Next, and EDP Leagues, the standards upheld by these clubs is what creates such a great platform for player development.”

EDP Soccer and the Maryland SoccerPlex look forward to continuing their relationship and offering top clubs a league platform for 8U-10U.
