This coming Fall 2021, New York City Football Club (NYCFC)'s newly-introduced girls development teams will join EDP Soccer. NYCFC feels that EDP Soccer will be the the perfect fit following the league's mission to provide a development-friendly arena of competition to support players who aspire to the highest levels of play.
“We are proud to announce the new model of our Girls Development Program in 2021. It is a priority for us as a Club to provide even more developmental pathways for girls to access quality soccer across the tri-state area. I witnessed firsthand the enthusiasm and passion for women’s soccer here in the U.S. and am thrilled that NYCFC will continue playing an active role in helping to develop the next generation of female soccer players both on and off the field,” said NYCFC COO/Chief Legal & Administrative Office, Jennifer O’Sullivan.
NYCFC's Girls Development Teams program is for U10-U12 female players that want an opportunity to train, develop and play at the highest levels. The teams will be based out of the state-of-the-art facility Danbury Sports Dome in Danbury, Connecticut.
"We always welcome the opportunity to work with professionally-run outfits like NYCFC. Having spoken with the club directors, I am confident that they will add to the overall positive on and off field culture that currently exists in the Northeast region. We wish them well in their efforts to develop their girls program as they aspire to follow the pathways and opportunities available through the USYS National League," commented John Tait, EDP Soccer Regional Manager for NY and New England.
