By Evan Unger, 10/22/20, 10:45AM EDT

Maryland Rush was among the first group of teams in Maryland to join EDP Leagues. The club currently has branches in Prince George County, Montgomery County, Annapolis and Southern Maryland. As the club has continued to grow since the Montgomery branch joined as a second location in 2012, it has been the home to many top players, teams and coaches.

“Maryland Rush is proud to be one of the first clubs in Maryland to be a part of the EDP and have seen terrific growth of our teams and players in the league over the years. As we continue to grow as a club with the addition of Southern Maryland Rush, we look forward to our continued relationship with the EDP and the USYS South Atlantic Conference.”
— Steve Senna, Technical Director

Since the addition of Montgomery, the club has won several MSYSA NCS State Cup Championships. In 2013, The ’93 girls won the 19U State Championship, which was quickly followed up by two more state cup championships in 2014. Most recently the ’06 girls Maryland Rush Montgomery Coyotes won the 12U State Cup Championship in 2018. At the 2018 USYS Eastern Regionals, the ’06 girls won all three of the group stage games, and went on to defeat Arlington SA in the semi final, and then defeated Cedar Stars Academy Bergen in the final to claim the Regional Championship.

In 2019, the ’06 girls returned to USYS Regionals, again advancing out of the group stage winning all three of their games. After defeating Century FC in the quarterfinal, they were defeated by eventual champion Real Jersey FC. The squad followed up the performance with an appearance in the 2019-2020 USYS National League, finishing the first event 2-1-1 and in 2nd place in their bracket, and in a great position going into the second event that was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19.

“Maryland Rush Montgomery continues to provide an appropriate developmental environment for boys and girls in the National Capital Area. Although we have teams of various playing levels, we remain committed to developing teams that's capable of competing against the best teams in the East Region and Nationally.”
