Founded in 1974, Torpedoes SC has been a fixture in the North Jersey youth soccer scene for over 40 years. Located in Wyckoff, NJ, the club is rich in history, and has been finding new levels of success in recent years. Under the guidance of Director of Coaching Andy Meaney, not only are the teams reaching new levels, but the players are as well.

In 2018-2019, the club had 3 teams reach the semi final round of the NJYS State Cup, being one of only 8 clubs in the state to have 3 or more teams reach that round. The 2008 boys reached the final, losing to a tough NY Red Bulls side; the 2007 girls reached the semi final; and the 08 girls won the state championship on penalty kicks over Wall Elite Chelsea. In 2019-2020, the 2007 girls made it one step further, reaching the final, and the 2008 girls won their second consecutive state championship by defeating STA in the final.

Now, in the 2019-2020 season, the club will see the 2007 girls — after back to back 1st place league positions — participate in the inaugural USYS National League Playoff, where teams have the opportunity to advance directly to the USYS National Championship in July 2021. In addition to the 2007 girls, Torpedoes SC has several teams playing in the USYS Mid Atlantic National League Conference, including the 2008 Boys, 2006 Boys, 2005 Boys, and 2008 girls who will look to win their third straight state championship in the Spring. Each of the teams will be looking to secure its place in the 2021 USYS Eastern Regionals which will be held at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ.

Director of Coaching Andy Meaney said that "over the past 6 years a lot of hard work has been put in by the trainers and players. Not only that we have a very dedicated Board of Directors who put in hours of voluntary work to make the club a huge success on and off the field. A lot of those hours often go unnoticed. We would also like to thank the parents for their continued dedication in supporting all the events our teams participate in."

The club has also seen player development reach new heights. Over the past few seasons, down to the hard work from the coaches and players on the training ground, Torpedoes SC has seen a number of players excel in its training environment and sign for both Red Bulls and NYCFC MLS youth academies. The club has also had a number of players from 2008 and 2007G have success in the USYS ODP System.

Meaney points out the club “puts a big emphasis on individual and team development.”

He adds: “Our training environment is fantastic. Players who are excelling in their age groups have opportunities to train with older teams, and really push themselves. One of the biggest components of the success in the girls program has been having teams/players train and scrimmage with the boys.  We have a fantastic training staff who are dedicated, put in a lot of hours and really care about the players development both on and off the field."
