The inaugural season of the USYS National League New England Conference managed by EDP kicks off this Fall with clubs from across New England participating. One of those clubs is Western United Pioneers FC, one of the most well known premier clubs in Massachusetts. A club with a long history of success at all levels, the club looks to find similar success in the USYS National League New England Conference.

The club is familiar with EDP, having played in EDP Tournaments since 2009. Over the past six years, the club has been a fixture at the EDP Cup Spring, where playing against the top teams in the region prepares them to compete for State Cup Championships. In 2019, the club saw the 2006 and 2003 boys reach the MYSA State Cup Finals, with the 2006 team winning the State Championship. The 2006 boys team went on to win its group at the 2019 USYS Eastern Regionals before it lost in the quarterfinals on penalty kicks to USYS North Atlantic Conference member Long Island Premier 06B.

Western United Pioneers have the honor of playing at one of the most famous soccer stadiums in New England, Lusitano Stadium. Located in Ludlow, MA, the stadium is the only soccer specific stadium in New England. Built in 1918, the stadium seats 3,000 spectators, and is also home to the clubs USL League Two team.

In 1999, the club won the USL D3 Pro League National Championship, and is consistently one of the top amateur clubs, reaching the US Open Cup 4 out of the last 6 years.

“Playing in the Lusitano Stadium for youth players is an amazing experience.  They will feel like a professional player. The set up, the history and the well known professional players that have played here make this stadium a very special place"
— Federico Molinari, Director of Coaching

This Fall will see the 08 Boys, 07 Boys, and 07 Girls be the first teams in the club to kick off in the USYS New England Conference, as the club looks forward using the National League pathways to reach the 2021 USYS Eastern Regionals at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in Hammonton, NJ.

“We are so happy to be part of the USYS New England Conference and to start playing at the National League level. This is a great opportunity for our players to keep competing at a high level.”
— Federico Molinari, Director of Coaching
