EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The 2019 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup Presented by Chipotle will take place from July 11-14 in Murfreesboro, TN. Seven teams that play in EDP Leagues will represent their state associations in the tournament after qualifying at the US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup in June.
Those seven teams are:
13U Boys—Pipeline SC 2006 Boys Black (MSYSA)
14U Boys—Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Boys 05 Red (EPYSA)
17U Boys—Union SC Spartans (NJYSA)
15U Girls—Valley SC Voodoo (EPYSA)
16U Girls—Keystone FC Elite 2003G (EPYSA)
17U Girls—Rage United SC Xtreme (EPYSA)
18U Girls—Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth 2001 G EDP Showcase (NJYSA)
“Our team is very honored to represent the Union Soccer Club, the State of New Jersey and the Eastern Region at the National Presidents Cup,” Union Soccer Club Head Coach Herberth Mosquera commented. “My dedicated and talented boys have trained very hard all season long and are ready to bring home the Cup.”
Cedar Stars Monmouth Head Coach Miguel Nieto echoed those sentiments: “The team has been playing well together and earned the privilege of representing the CSA Monmouth Academy, State of New Jersey and Eastern Region at the prestigious and very well-organized National Presidents Cup. Their success is a result of their passion, hard work and perseverance.”
A different competition than the US Youth Soccer National League and National Championship Series, the Presidents Cup is designed to provide a progressive, competitive experience for teams that otherwise might not get the opportunity. Teams face opponents of similar ability for the chance to compete for a national title.
“This is a great opportunity for our team,” Pipeline Soccer Club Head Coach Tyler Wilhelm said. “We’ve exceeded expectations and are the first Pipeline Soccer Club team ever to make it this far in the Presidents Cup. And we could be the first to bring this trophy home. We have some tough tests ahead, but we are up for the challenge.”
“We are very excited to compete in the National Presidents Cup,” Valley Soccer Club Head Coach Carla Sokel added. “Our team has worked very hard to get here. We’re looking forward to playing top-level competition and having a great experience!”
Four regional winners (Eastern, Midwest, Southern, Far West) advanced to the National Presidents Cup, where champions will be determined in the 13U-18U age groups for boys and girls. Group play runs from July 11-13, with the consolation and final matches set for July 14.
