EDP’s NPL Designation as an ENPL Qualifying League Will Boost Its Competitive Platform Even Further
East Brunswick, NJ (December 1, 2016) -- The designation of EDP’s NPL as a qualifying league for the new, groundbreaking Elite National Premier League (ENPL) will raise its competitive platform to an even higher level.
US Club Soccer announced that, starting in the Fall of 2017, teams in EDP’s U14 - U19 NPL age groups will be part of the ENPL program and will earn qualification to the postseason ENPL Playoffs based on their performances throughout regular season play in their respective competitions. The first ENPL Playoffs will be held in June of 2018.
“This is great news for EDP,” Alan Shilling, CEO of EDP said. “With our clubs now being able to participate in the ENPL platform and compete at a top regional and national level, our members will be able to continuously create high level development environments for their players."
ENPL will feature the very best boys players within US Club Soccer. Top finishers from EDP ENPL and other ENPL leagues across the country, as well as ECNL Boys will come together in the postseason ENPL Playoffs.
In addition to these existing members, EDP expects to welcome other new clubs to its ENPL division. Shilling commented: “We already have a very impressive group of clubs involved and the expected new additions will significantly enhance the overall ENPL experience and move the league forward in a very positive way. Additional details will be available in the coming months.”
The EDP NPL currently includes the following clubs:
- Bethesda SC - Pipeline SC
- FC Copa - SJEB
- Ironbound SC - TSF Academy
